Government Schemes for Women in India — Find Schemes in Your State (2026)
Quick Reply: Pick your state in the finder below. You will see every scheme on this site meant only for women — Central schemes that run in all states plus your own state's schemes — each with the amount, eligibility, key dates, how to get it, and a link to the full guide.
India's biggest cash and welfare schemes for women are split between the Centre and the states — a woman in Madhya Pradesh can claim different benefits from a woman in Odisha or Karnataka. This page gathers every women-only scheme that has a full guide on RTI Wiki into one finder. Choose your state and it shows the schemes you can actually claim, with the details that matter first: amount, eligibility, dates and how to get it.
How to use this finder
- Choose your state — the finder shows your state's schemes plus the Central schemes that run everywhere in India.
- Read the card — amount, who qualifies, important dates, and how to apply, in two short paragraphs.
- Open the full guide — every card links to the detailed RTI Wiki article for that scheme, with portal steps, document lists, and what to do when money gets stuck.
- Your state is not listed? Central schemes apply in every state, and the widow pension state guide covers all states. Also see women and social welfare schemes 2026 for schemes that do not have a full guide yet.

Money stuck, rejected or not credited?
Most “payment stopped” cases across these schemes come down to four fixable causes:
- e-KYC not done — Ladki Bahin and several other schemes now demand yearly e-KYC. Do it on the scheme portal or at your Anganwadi / seva kendra.
- Aadhaar–bank seeding broken — the DBT fails silently. Ask your bank branch to confirm Aadhaar linking and NPCI mapping.
- A certification was missed — student schemes (Pudhumai Penn) need twice-yearly college certification; pension schemes need a yearly life certificate.
- The recorded reason is wrong — ask for the reason on record. If the office will not tell you, file an RTI asking for the file noting and payment transaction details.
Our RTI for Women guide has ready-to-file RTI drafts for scheme delays, and the RTI Assistant drafts one in about a minute. For the full playbook on chasing a stuck benefit, read The RTI Playbook and the scheme status check guide.
FAQ
Which scheme gives the most money to women?
Among monthly schemes on this site, West Bengal's Annapurna Bhandar pays the most (₹3,000/month), followed by Jharkhand's Maiya Samman (₹2,500) and Karnataka's Gruha Lakshmi (₹2,000). The biggest one-time grant is Telangana's Kalyana Lakshmi / Shaadi Mubarak at ₹1,00,116. For long-term wealth, nothing beats Sukanya Samriddhi's 8.2% tax-free compounding for a girl child.
Can I get more than one scheme at the same time?
Often yes — Central and state schemes usually stack (for example, Ujjwala plus a state monthly cash scheme). But read the exclusion rules: Subhadra, for instance, bars women already receiving a pension or scholarship of ₹1,500/month or more, and most schemes bar income-tax-paying families. Check the eligibility section of the full guide before applying.
Why did my payment stop suddenly?
The four usual reasons: pending e-KYC, Aadhaar not seeded with your bank account (NPCI mapping), a missed yearly certification, or a wrong “ineligible” entry on record. Fix the first three yourself; for the last, ask the office for the recorded reason — and file an RTI if they do not answer.
Are applications for these schemes really free?
Yes. Every scheme on this page is free to apply for — the form, the registration and the status check. Never pay an agent, and only trust official `*.gov.in` portals. Several states warn that lookalike websites exist (the Ladki Bahin portal, for example, is spelt ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in).
My state has a women's scheme that is not listed here. Where do I check it?
This finder covers schemes that have a full guide on RTI Wiki today. For anything else, cross-check on `myscheme.gov.in` and your state's Women and Child Development department website — and see our broader women and social welfare schemes overview. More state guides are added as we publish them.
