Your RTI

Enter your RTI filing date on the left, then press Calculate my timeline.

The calculator will show every statutory stage — PIO 30-day disposal, First Appeal 30-day window, Second Appeal 90-day window — with calendar-adjusted dates.

Completed Upcoming Due soon (<7 days) Overdue / breached
How this works. Dates are calculated on a calendar-day basis in accordance with Section 7(1), 7(2), 11, 19(1), 19(3) and 19(6) of the Right to Information Act, 2005. No calendar-day holidays are deducted (the Act does not provide a holiday carve-out). For the 48-hour life-and-liberty window, time runs by the clock including non-working days. For §11, the calculator adds the 10-day objection window on top of the standard 30-day PIO window to reach 40 days. For Second Appeal, the 90 days run from the FAA's order date or from day 46 of FAA inaction (whichever is earlier).

Legal anchor. Section 7(1), 7(2), 11, 19(1), 19(3), 19(6) of the Right to Information Act, 2005. See the First Appeal timeline guide and Second Appeal guide for practitioner detail.
