Ujjwala Yojana Beneficiary List, Subsidy and Apply 2026

Ujjwala (PMUY) gives eligible women a deposit-free LPG connection with the first refill and stove free, and a Rs 300 subsidy on each of the first four refills a year. As on 25 August 2026, 10.57 crore connections have been released, and a fresh tranche of 25 lakh connections is being released. Checking your beneficiary status takes a mobile number and an OTP.

There is no public village-wise name list for Ujjwala, the way there is for some farm schemes. Use these official routes instead:

1. pmuy.gov.in State/District PMUY Data: open the PMUY site, go to “State/District wise PMUY details”, and validate with your mobile number, CAPTCHA and OTP. This is the official beneficiary data page.
2. Your own connection and subsidy: log in to your oil company's customer portal (IndianOil, HP Anytime or Bharatgas) with your consumer number to see your connection status, refill history and PAHAL subsidy credits.
3. UMANG: the PMUY scheme service is also available on the government's UMANG app and web portal.
4. By phone: call the Ujjwala helpline 14438 (1800-266-6696) or the toll-free line 14428 (1800-2333-5555). 1906 is the LPG emergency number.
5. Name-level lists: if you need the actual list of beneficiaries for your village, ward or distributor area – for a survey, an audit or a fraud complaint – that is a record held by the public-sector oil companies and the district machinery. Ask through RTI (see the RTI section below).

If your real question is whether your pending application was approved, ask your distributor for the application status, and escalate to the company's area office if it stalls.

• Deposit-free connection. The Government pays cash assistance of Rs 2,050 for a 14.2 kg connection (Rs 1,300 for a 5 kg one). This covers the cylinder security deposit of Rs 1,700 (Rs 950 for 5 kg), the pressure regulator (Rs 150), the hose (Rs 100), the consumer card (Rs 25) and installation and demonstration (Rs 75).
• First refill and stove free. The oil marketing companies provide the first LPG refill and the hotplate free of cost along with the deposit-free connection.
• Rs 300 subsidy per cylinder on the first 4 refills a year, credited by direct benefit transfer to the woman's Aadhaar-linked bank account – Rs 1,200 a year in total. From the fifth refill onwards you pay the full price.
• A 5 kg cylinder option for small households, at the lower Rs 1,300 cash assistance.

The applicant must be a woman aged 18 or above, there must be no other LPG connection in the same household, and she must belong to a poor household, which she shows through a deprivation declaration in the prescribed format. The official category list includes:

1. SC households and ST households
2. SECC-2011 listed households (AHL TIN)
3. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) beneficiaries
4. Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card families
5. Most Backward Classes
6. Tea and ex-tea garden tribes
7. Forest dwellers
8. People residing in islands and river islands
9. Poor households as per the 14-point declaration

Under Ujjwala 2.0 (running since August 2021) the process is simpler for migrants: where a ration card or State document is not available, a self-declaration in Annexure I is accepted, and no separate address proof is needed beyond that.

Documents you carry: the KYC form, your Aadhaar (and Aadhaar of adult family members for de-duplication), a ration card or other State document certifying family composition (or the migrant self-declaration), proof of address only if your current address differs from the Aadhaar address, bank account details, and the deprivation declaration. A photograph is taken at the distributor.

1. Open https://www.pmuy.gov.in and choose “Apply for New Ujjwala PMUY Connection”.
2. Pick your oil marketing company – IndianOil (Indane), HP Gas or Bharatgas – and a distributor near you. The official apply links for all three sit on that PMUY page.
3. Complete Aadhaar OTP verification, fill in family and bank details, and choose the cylinder size (14.2 kg or 5 kg).
4. Submit online and then finish KYC at the distributor with the documents listed above.
5. Alternatively, walk into any distributor of the three companies and ask for the Ujjwala 2.0 form.

Applying is free. Timelines vary by distributor; ask for your application number and use it in every follow-up. Nobody may charge an “agent fee” for a Ujjwala connection – if someone does, that is a fraud to report to the helpline.

1. You pay the full cylinder price at delivery – Rs 942 for a 14.2 kg cylinder for a general consumer in Delhi as of the June 2026 price communication; prices differ somewhat across cities.
2. For each of the first four refills in a year, Rs 300 is credited by DBT to your Aadhaar-linked bank account, so the effective price on those refills is Rs 642. That support is worth Rs 1,200 a year.
3. The cap has come down over time – it applied to more refills in earlier years (12, then 9 from the 2025-26 decision) – so ignore older articles that promise a subsidy on every refill up to 12.
4. The subsidy reaches you only if your Aadhaar is linked to the bank account and the account is seeded for DBT. A failed seeding is the most common reason subsidies silently stop.

If subsidy is missing: check the seeding status with your bank, look at your refill and subsidy history in your oil company's portal, and if the record itself is wrong, ask through RTI for the DBT logs for your consumer number.

1. Surrender: go to your distributor with the cylinder, regulator and consumer card, and ask for surrender of the connection. The distributor issues a termination voucher – keep it safely, because it is also the paper you need if you ever apply for a fresh connection later. Refund of any deposit you actually paid follows your oil company's rules; in a Ujjwala connection the deposit was financed by government cash assistance, so ask the distributor what, if anything, is refundable in your case.
2. Move within the same company: apply to your distributor for transfer to another distributor of the same company.
3. Move to another company: the unified form for transfer of LPG connection and the portability details published on pmuy.gov.in apply; you approach the new distributor, and the old connection is closed or transferred. This usually takes some days.
4. Inactive connection: if you have not taken a refill for a long time the connection may be flagged dormant; a KYC update and one booking normally reactivate it.

• Aadhaar-bank seeding missing – subsidy fails silently. Fix it at the bank before complaining anywhere else.
• Two connections in one household – not allowed; surrender or transfer the duplicate first.
• Expecting subsidy beyond the 4th refill – only four refills a year carry the Rs 300 support now.
• Paying an agent – the connection is free; report agents charging fees.
• Applying far from home for no reason – your distributor should be reachable for delivery, KYC and service.
• Losing the termination voucher or booklet – the distributor can issue duplicates for a small fee set by the oil company; carry Aadhaar.

Good RTI asks on Ujjwala: the status and date of disposal of your application number; the number of PMUY connections released by your distributor each year; the DBT credit logs for your consumer number; and the district-wise beneficiary count. Address it to the PIO of the oil marketing company (they are public authorities under RTI) or the District Supply Office as appropriate.

There is no public name list. Check yourself through the State/District PMUY Data page on pmuy.gov.in after OTP validation, or your own connection through your oil company's customer portal. For an actual name-level list of your area, file an RTI with the oil company or the district supply office.

That is the current rule: the Rs 300 DBT applies only to the first four refills each year, worth Rs 1,200 a year. Refills after that are at the full price. If you did not receive subsidy even on the first four, check your Aadhaar-bank seeding first.

No – no household may hold more than one connection, across all three companies. Surrender or transfer the existing connection first (collect the termination voucher), then apply in the woman's name.

No. The connection must be in the name of a woman aged 18 or above from an eligible poor household.

General consumers no longer receive a DBT subsidy; the domestic cylinder price itself is kept below the market-linked cost (about Rs 700 below it, per the June 2026 government statement). Ujjwala beneficiaries additionally get the Rs 300 DBT on the first four refills a year.

Yes – connection transfer and portability between companies are allowed through the unified transfer process published on pmuy.gov.in. Expect it to take some days and keep your old consumer documents.
