Maiya Samman Yojana Status and Payment Check 2026 (Jharkhand)

Jharkhand woman checking Maiya Samman Yojana status on a mobile phone in 2026

Use only the official Jharkhand Maiya Samman portal to check your application or payment status.

Editorial note. Last reviewed: 10 July 2026 | Reviewed by: RTI Wiki editorial team | Sources: official Jharkhand .gov.in portals (mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in, jharkhand.gov.in, ranchi.nic.in), RTI Act 2005 | This page is updated when the scheme portal or department issues new guidance.

Quick answer. To check your Maiya Samman Yojana status 2026, use the official Jharkhand portal mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in or call the toll-free helpline 1800-890-0215. The scheme, run by the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department, Government of Jharkhand, pays Rs 2,500 per month by Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to eligible women aged 18 to 50. The portal says the monthly amount is disbursed by the 15th of each month. This website cannot check your status. If your money is not credited, the two most common causes in 2026 are an Aadhaar that is not seeded with your bank account and an incomplete beneficiary verification (satyapan) or e-KYC. If the portal or office gives no clear answer, you can file an RTI under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act 2005. For the full RTI filing process in Jharkhand, see how to file RTI in Jharkhand.

Maiya Samman Yojana at a glance (2026)

  • What it is: Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana, a Jharkhand DBT scheme paying monthly support to eligible women.
  • Amount: Rs 2,500 per month, raised from the earlier Rs 1,000 by a state cabinet decision in late 2024.
  • Payment date: the official portal states disbursement by the 15th of every month.
  • Who runs it: Women, Child Development and Social Security Department, Government of Jharkhand.
  • Eligible age: Women aged 18 to 50 years (stated on the official portal).
  • Total beneficiaries: approximately 50 lakh women across all 24 districts of Jharkhand (based on public reports and jharkhand.gov.in notices).
  • Official portal: mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in
  • Toll-free helpline: 1800-890-0215 (listed on the official portal).
  • Implementation: under the District Deputy Commissioner, through Block Development Officers (rural) and Circle Officers (urban), via Anganwadi centres.

Maiya Samman is one of the largest DBT schemes in India — news reports put the beneficiary base at roughly 50 lakh women — so payments go out in big monthly batches. A late or missing instalment is usually a bank, Aadhaar-seeding, or verification issue, not a rejection. This guide shows where to check, what each status may mean, and what to do if your money has not arrived. Every scheme fact below is taken from the official Jharkhand portal and government notices; where a rule could change, we tell you to confirm it on the portal.

How to check Maiya Samman Yojana status 2026

  1. Open the official portal mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in on your phone or computer.
  2. Go to the applicant / beneficiary section on the portal.
  3. Enter your registered mobile number or application / reference number and follow the prompts to verify yourself, usually with an OTP.
  4. Submit to view your application stage and payment status.
  5. If the portal does not show a recent payment, check your Aadhaar-bank seeding and your verification (satyapan) status (both explained below).
  6. If you are still unsure, call the toll-free helpline 1800-890-0215, or ask at the Anganwadi centre or Block office where you applied.

Reminder. This website does not check status. Only mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in, the toll-free helpline 1800-890-0215, and your district office hold your real Maiya Samman record.

Think of a common case. Sunita (a typical example, not a real applicant) applied at a panchayat camp in Hazaribagh in 2024, got Rs 1,000 for a few months, then the money stopped after the amount rose to Rs 2,500. She feared rejection. The real problem, found at her bank branch, was that her account was Aadhaar-linked but not DBT-enabled in the NPCI mapper. One visit to the branch fixed it, and the next cycle credited normally. Most “missing payment” cases look like this — check the plumbing before assuming rejection.

The scheme so far: a short timeline

When What happened
August 2024 Scheme launched by the Government of Jharkhand; applications collected through Anganwadi workers, panchayat-level camps in rural areas and ward or Anganwadi-centre camps in urban areas. Monthly amount: Rs 1,000.
Late 2024 The Jharkhand cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approved raising the amount from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 per month.
January 2025 The first Rs 2,500 instalments reached beneficiary bank accounts, as widely reported in the Jharkhand press.
2025 to 2026 The department ran beneficiary verification (satyapan) drives through Anganwadi centres. Names that failed eligibility checks were removed, and instalments for unverified beneficiaries were held back.
Mid-2026 Payments continue monthly at Rs 2,500 by DBT, with the portal stating disbursement by the 15th of each month. Confirm the latest instalment position on the portal or helpline.

How to check beneficiary / payment details

Your payment record sits with your Aadhaar-linked bank account, because the money arrives by DBT. To confirm a credit, check your bank passbook, SMS alerts, or net banking. At the scheme level, your district sometimes publishes Aadhaar-seeding lists and verification lists that show whether your account is ready to receive the transfer. Ask your Block office or check your district website (for example, the Ranchi district notice page) under the Maiya Samman notices.

Who is eligible

The scheme is for women of Jharkhand who meet the published conditions. Per the official portal and scheme notices:

  • You must be a woman resident of Jharkhand.
  • You must be aged 18 to 50 years (this band is stated on the official portal; confirm before applying).
  • Your name should appear on your family ration card — press reports say this is checked during verification. Confirm the exact rule in the official FAQ.
  • Your family should fall within the scheme's economic conditions. The official guidelines list the income and exclusion rules.
  • Better-off categories may be excluded — for example families with a government employee or income-tax payer, and women already drawing certain other pensions. Check the official FAQ for the exact exclusion list before you apply or appeal.

Because eligibility wording is updated from time to time, always confirm the current rule in the official FAQ on your district website or the portal before you apply or appeal. See also our expanded section below: Maiya Samman Yojana eligibility criteria 2026.

Documents you need

Keep these ready, as listed in the official scheme forms and FAQ:

  • Aadhaar card (linked to your mobile for OTP).
  • Bank account in your name, seeded with Aadhaar for DBT.
  • Ration card showing your name.
  • Jharkhand residence proof, such as a ration card or voter ID.
  • Mobile number that receives OTP.
  • A recent passport-size photo for camp or Anganwadi verification.

The official portal notes that the applicant must be present in person at the camp or centre so her Aadhaar and photo can be verified. No one else can complete this step for you.

What each status may mean

Official labels can differ, so the table below uses careful wording. Always trust the exact text on the portal or from your Block office.

Status you may see What it may mean What to do
Pending / under verification Your form is still being checked at the block or district level. Wait. Confirm with the camp or Block office where you applied.
Approved / sanctioned You are accepted as a beneficiary. Watch your Aadhaar-linked bank account for the DBT credit around mid-month.
Paid / credited The instalment was sent to your bank. Check your passbook or SMS. If not seen, check Aadhaar seeding.
Payment failed / returned The bank could not accept the transfer. Fix Aadhaar seeding, dormant-account or name-mismatch issues at your branch, then wait for the next cycle.
Rejected You did not meet a condition, or a document failed. Read the reason. Fix it, re-apply, or file a grievance or RTI.
Not found / no record Your form may not have been submitted or synced. Re-check your mobile number. Visit the Block office or camp.

Verification (satyapan) and e-KYC: why payments stop in 2026

Since the amount rose to Rs 2,500, the department has been cleaning the beneficiary list. Jharkhand newspapers have reported physical verification (satyapan) drives run through Anganwadi centres, in which names that failed the eligibility rules were removed and instalments for unverified women were held back. Separately, an incomplete bank e-KYC can block the DBT credit even for a verified beneficiary.

If your payment stopped after earlier successful instalments:

  1. Ask your Anganwadi centre or Block office whether your verification is complete and whether any document is pending. Do this in person and note the date and the name of the office.
  2. Ask your bank branch whether your account e-KYC is current and the account is active.
  3. Do not rely on WhatsApp forwards for verification deadlines or form numbers — they change and are often wrong. Confirm any deadline with the Anganwadi centre, the toll-free helpline 1800-890-0215, or the portal.

For any DBT scheme, the top reason money does not arrive is an Aadhaar that is not seeded with your bank account. Seeding is not the same as just giving the bank your Aadhaar. Your account must be linked in the NPCI DBT mapper so the transfer can land.

  1. Visit your bank branch with your Aadhaar and passbook.
  2. Ask for Aadhaar seeding and DBT enablement (NPCI mapper).
  3. You can check the DBT link yourself. See our guide to check if your bank account is DBT-linked.
  4. After seeding, wait for the next payment cycle, then re-check.

Other common reasons: a frozen or KYC-pending account, a closed account, or a name mismatch between Aadhaar and the bank. Fix these at your branch first. If your account has been dormant, see how to reactivate a dormant bank account.

Complaint and helpdesk: official channels

Use only official channels. Do not pay any agent who promises faster approval or a guaranteed payment.

  • Toll-free helpline: 1800-890-0215, listed on the official portal.
  • Official portal: mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in (use the contact or grievance section if shown).
  • District office: your Block Development Office or the District Social Welfare / Social Security cell. The portal says the scheme is implemented under the District Deputy Commissioner, through the Block Development Officer in rural areas and the Circle Officer in urban areas.
  • Where you applied: the camp, Anganwadi centre, or Block office that took your form.
  • State department: Women, Child Development and Social Security Department, Government of Jharkhand (jharkhand.gov.in).

RTI angle: when the portal gives no clear answer

If the office and portal do not give you a clear, dated answer, you have a legal right to ask. File an RTI under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act 2005 to the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the implementing office, usually the District Social Welfare Officer or the Block Development Office.

You can ask for facts the portal will not show, such as:

  1. The current status and recorded stage of your application.
  2. The reason for any delay or rejection, and whether your name was removed during verification.
  3. The date your payment was released, with the transaction reference.
  4. The number of applications pending in your block for 2025 to 2026.
To the CPIO, [District Social Welfare Office / Block Development Office, your area]
Subject: Information under Section 6(1) RTI Act 2005, Maiya Samman Yojana
1. The current status of my application (registered mobile: [number]).
2. The reason recorded for any delay, rejection, or removal during verification.
3. The date and transaction reference of my last payment, if released.
4. The number of Maiya Samman applications pending in this block for 2025 to 2026.

The PIO must reply within 30 days under Section 7(1). If there is no reply or an evasive one, file a first appeal within 30 days under Section 19(1). Draft the application fast with the AI RTI Drafter, build your appeal with the First Appeal Builder, and check any reply you receive with the PIO Reply Checker. Read The RTI Playbook for the full escalation path. For the general method, see file RTI for a delayed government scheme benefit. For the Jharkhand-specific filing process, see how to file RTI in Jharkhand.

Maiya Samman Yojana district-wise beneficiary list and coverage

Maiya Samman covers all 24 districts of Jharkhand. The scheme is implemented through the District Deputy Commissioner's office in each district, with Block Development Officers (BDOs) handling rural areas and Circle Officers handling urban wards. Below is an approximate district-wise distribution of beneficiaries based on public data, district population proportions, and press reports. These numbers are approximate — confirm exact figures on mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in or by filing an RTI to your District Social Welfare Office.

Palamu ~2.0 DC Palamu palamu.nic.in
Total (all 24 districts) ~50.0 WCD Dept, Govt. of Jharkhand jharkhand.gov.in

How to verify your district's list. Visit your district .nic.in website (links above) and search for “Maiya Samman” or “Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman” notices. You can also visit your Block office or Anganwadi centre to ask whether your name appears in the current beneficiary list. If the list is not displayed, file an RTI asking for the ward-wise or panchayat-wise beneficiary count under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act.

How to check Maiya Samman payment status by mobile number

Many beneficiaries ask whether they can check their payment status using just their mobile number. Here is the step-by-step method:

  1. Look for the “Beneficiary Status” or “Payment Status” link on the portal.
  2. Enter your registered mobile number — the same number you gave at the Anganwadi camp or Block office when you applied.
  3. You may receive an OTP on that number. Enter it to verify.
  4. The portal should show your application stage, sanctioned amount, and latest payment status.
  5. If the portal shows “paid” but you have not received the money, the issue is almost always at the bank end — check your Aadhaar-seeding and DBT status as explained in Money not credited? Fix the DBT link first.

If your mobile number has changed since you applied, you need to update it at the Block office or Anganwadi centre where you registered. The portal cannot send an OTP to a new number that was not registered with the scheme.

SMS alerts. Many banks send an SMS like “Rs 2500 credited — Maiya Samman” or “MMMSY” when the DBT arrives. If you do not get SMS alerts, ask your bank to enable transaction alerts on your account. See also check if your bank account is DBT-linked.

Maiya Samman Yojana eligibility criteria 2026

Maiya Samman vs other state women welfare schemes: comparison

Several Indian states run similar monthly cash benefit schemes for women. Here is how Maiya Samman compares to the most prominent ones:

Feature Maiya Samman (Jharkhand) Ladli Behna (MP) Ladki Bahin (Maharashtra) Subhadra (Odisha)
Monthly amount Rs 2,500 Rs 1,250 Rs 1,500 Rs 10,000/yr (approx Rs 833/mo)
Age eligibility 18-50 years 21-60 years 21-65 years 21-60 years
Payment mode DBT (Aadhaar-linked bank) DBT DBT DBT
Total beneficiaries ~50 lakh ~1.3 crore ~2.3 crore ~1 crore
Running since August 2024 2023 August 2024 September 2024
Official portal mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in cmladlibahna.mp.gov.in ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in subhadra.odisha.gov.in

See our detailed status guides for each scheme: Ladli Behna Yojana status (MP), Ladki Bahin Yojana status (Maharashtra), and Subhadra Yojana status (Odisha). For other women's schemes, see women's social welfare schemes in India and Bhagyalakshmi Yojana status.

Key difference. Maiya Samman pays the highest monthly amount (Rs 2,500) among comparable state women welfare DBT schemes, but covers a narrower age band (18-50) than Ladli Behna (21-60) or Ladki Bahin (21-65).

How to complete Maiya Samman e-KYC and satyapan

e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) and satyapan (verification) are two separate steps that both affect whether your payment arrives:

e-KYC (bank-level):

  • This is done at your bank branch. The bank verifies your identity using your Aadhaar biometric or OTP authentication.
  • If your bank e-KYC is pending, your account cannot receive DBT credits — the transfer will fail or be returned.
  • To fix: visit your bank branch with your Aadhaar and passbook. Ask the officer to complete or update your e-KYC.

Satyapan (scheme-level verification):

  • This is done by the department through Anganwadi centres and Block offices.
  • During satyapan, an Anganwadi worker or Block official verifies your identity, residence, age, ration card, and bank details against government records.
  • If your satyapan is incomplete or a document fails the check, your instalment is held back until you fix it.
  • To check: visit your Anganwadi centre or Block office. Ask whether your satyapan is complete and whether any document is pending.

Step-by-step to complete both:

  1. Step 1: Ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your mobile number (for OTP) and to your bank account (for DBT). See check DBT seeding status.
  2. Step 2: Visit your bank branch and complete or update your e-KYC. Carry your Aadhaar card and passbook.
  3. Step 3: Visit your Anganwadi centre or Block office and ask about your satyapan status. Carry all documents listed in Documents you need.
  4. Step 4: If any document has an error (name spelling, date of birth, address), fix it first. See how to correct Aadhaar errors and check Aadhaar update status.
  5. Step 5: After completing both e-KYC and satyapan, wait for the next payment cycle (by the 15th of the following month). Then check your bank passbook.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check Maiya Samman Yojana payment status?

Open mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in, go to the applicant section, and enter your registered mobile or application number. You can also call the toll-free helpline 1800-890-0215. For the actual money, check your Aadhaar-linked bank passbook or SMS, because payment arrives by DBT.

How much does Maiya Samman Yojana pay in 2026?

The scheme pays Rs 2,500 per month by Direct Benefit Transfer to eligible women, raised from the earlier Rs 1,000 after a state cabinet decision in late 2024. The official portal states the amount is disbursed by the 15th of each month to your Aadhaar-linked bank account.

What date does the Maiya Samman money come every month?

The official portal states that the monthly amount is disbursed by the 15th of each month. Actual credit dates can vary by a few days depending on the payment batch and your bank. If nothing arrives well after the 15th, check your Aadhaar seeding and verification status before assuming rejection.

My Maiya Samman money is not credited. What should I do?

First check your Aadhaar-bank DBT seeding, which is the most common cause. Visit your bank with Aadhaar and passbook and ask for Aadhaar seeding and DBT enablement. Next, ask your Anganwadi centre whether your verification (satyapan) is complete, since unverified beneficiaries have had instalments held back. If your status shows “paid” but no money arrived, raise it with your Block office, and file an RTI for the transaction reference if needed.

Why did my payment stop after I got earlier instalments?

The most common 2026 reasons are an incomplete beneficiary verification (satyapan), a pending bank e-KYC, or a change in your bank account. The department has removed names that failed eligibility checks during verification drives. Ask your Anganwadi centre or Block office, in person, whether your verification is complete and whether any document is pending.

Is there a helpline for Maiya Samman Yojana?

Yes. The official portal lists the toll-free number 1800-890-0215. Use it to ask about your application stage, payment status, or verification. Calls to official helplines are free — never pay anyone who offers to “fix” your status for money.

Is there any fee to apply or check status?

No. Applying through the official channels and checking your status are free. The portal says application forms are given free of cost by Anganwadi workers and at camps. Do not pay any agent who promises faster approval or a guaranteed payment.

My name is missing from the list. Can I still apply?

Yes, if you meet the conditions. Apply through your Anganwadi centre, the nearest camp, or the Block office, with your Aadhaar, Aadhaar-linked bank account and Jharkhand residence proof. The portal notes you must be present in person for Aadhaar and photo verification. Confirm the current eligibility and dates in the official FAQ before you apply.

What if the office does not solve my problem?

Escalate. Use the grievance section on the portal, call 1800-890-0215, contact the District Social Welfare Officer, or file an RTI under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act 2005 for a dated, written answer about your status and payment. See How to file RTI for Maiya Samman Yojana above.

Can I check Maiya Samman status by mobile number only?

Yes. On mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in, enter your registered mobile number in the beneficiary status section. You may receive an OTP for verification. After OTP verification, the portal shows your application stage and payment status. If your mobile number has changed, update it at your Block office or Anganwadi centre first. See our detailed guide: check payment status by mobile number.

Which districts are covered under Maiya Samman Yojana?

All 24 districts of Jharkhand are covered. The scheme is implemented through District Deputy Commissioners and Block Development Officers, with Anganwadi centres handling applications and verification in rural areas. See the district-wise beneficiary table above for the top 10 districts and their approximate beneficiary counts.

Can I get Maiya Samman and another pension scheme at the same time?

That depends on the scheme's exclusion rules. The official guidelines list certain categories that are excluded — for example, women already receiving specific government pensions. However, the exact exclusion list is updated periodically. Check the current FAQ on mmmsy.jharkhand.gov.in or ask at your Block office. See also RTI for widow pension not credited and old age pension status check.

What is the difference between e-KYC and satyapan?

e-KYC is done at your bank — it verifies your identity for your bank account using Aadhaar, so the account can receive DBT credits. Satyapan is done by the department through Anganwadi centres — it verifies your eligibility, residence, and documents for the scheme. Both must be complete for your payment to arrive. See how to complete e-KYC and satyapan above.

Is Maiya Samman better than Ladli Behna or Ladki Bahin?

Maiya Samman pays the highest monthly amount (Rs 2,500) among comparable schemes, but has a narrower age band (18-50) than Ladli Behna (21-60) or Ladki Bahin (21-65). Each scheme is state-specific — you can only receive the one for your state of residence. See our full scheme comparison table above.

How do I file an RTI for Maiya Samman if the office does not respond?

File a written RTI application under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act 2005 to the CPIO of the District Social Welfare Office or Block Development Office. The PIO must reply within 30 days. If no satisfactory reply, file a first appeal within 30 days under Section 19(1). For the full Jharkhand process, see how to file RTI in Jharkhand and our detailed section How to file RTI for Maiya Samman Yojana above.
