What Udyam registration is
Udyam is the official MSME registration run by the Ministry of MSME. It replaced the older Udyog Aadhaar system. Registration is Aadhaar and PAN based, free, and usually granted instantly online.
Because Udyam is instant, there is rarely a “pending application” to track. For most owners, checking status means one of three things: verifying a certificate is genuine, printing your certificate, or recovering a lost Udyam number.
Your Udyam Registration Certificate is used to claim MSME benefits. These include priority sector loans, government tenders, subsidies, and various central and state schemes.
There is also the Udyam Assist Platform for very small informal units. Enterprises without PAN or GSTIN can register there and receive a Udyam Assist Certificate treated on par with Udyam for priority lending.
How to check Udyam registration status
Step 1 — Verify a Udyam certificate
Open udyamregistration.gov.in and click the Print / Verify tab in the top menu. Choose the option to verify a Udyam Registration Certificate. Enter the Udyam Registration Number and the verification code shown, then submit to confirm the certificate is genuine.
Step 2 — Print your Udyam certificate
From the Print / Verify menu, select Print Udyam Certificate. Enter your Udyam Registration Number and registered mobile number, choose the OTP option, and click Validate & Generate OTP. Enter the OTP, open your dashboard, and print the certificate as a PDF.
Step 3 — Recover a forgotten Udyam number
If you have lost your number, open the Print / Verify tab and click Forgot Udyam / UAM No. Choose Udyam registration, pick the OTP method, and enter your registered mobile or email. Click Validate & Generate OTP, then enter the OTP. Your Udyam Registration Number is shown and also sent to you.
Step 4 — Update or check Udyam details
To change or review your details, use the login or update option on the portal. Enter your Udyam Registration Number, then verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile. From there you can view your filing and update enterprise information.

If your registration or update is stuck
If the portal does not show your certificate, or an update will not save, first confirm your mobile number and OTP are working. Try again after a short while, since government portals can be slow at peak times.

The only official site is udyamregistration.gov.in, and it ends in .gov.in. Registration, verification, recovery and printing are all completely free.
Beware paid lookalike sites that use words like “udyam”, “udhyam” or “registration” and charge a fee to do free tasks. Never pay them. Never share your OTP with anyone, including callers who claim to be from the MSME office, as the OTP is enough to access your record.
