• Patwari verification fail — village elders weren't home. Re-verification request.
• Migration from another state — caste status doesn't auto-transfer. Apply fresh in new state with origin proof.

1. Get rejection order — Tehsildar must issue written rejection (RTPS). If verbal: file RTI for the note.
2. Submit father's caste cert — If father has caste certificate: attach copy. Speeds verification.
3. Or submit school caste entry — 10th certificate / TC showing caste field is strong evidence. RTI to school if lost.
4. Or village elders' affidavit — For SC/ST: 3-4 elders' joint affidavit on Rs 10 stamp paper. Patwari counter-verifies.

7. Caste Scrutiny Committee (last resort) — For ST: state Caste Scrutiny Committee (CSC) — quasi-judicial body. Decides finally on caste claim disputes.
