ESIC runs the Employees State Insurance scheme for workers in covered workplaces. If you earn within the wage limit, your employer must register you under the scheme. Once registered, you become an Insured Person (IP).

Your employer generates your e-Pehchan card through ESIC. This is your identity card (pehchan) for the scheme. It carries your Insurance Number, the unique ID that links you to all your benefits.

As an Insured Person, the scheme can give you medical care for you and your family, plus cash benefits during sickness, maternity, or work injury. To use these benefits, your registration must be active and your card details correct.
