MP Medhavi Vidyarthi Scholarship Not Credited? 2026 Fix

If your Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana (MMVY) fee shows “sanctioned” but the money has not reached your college or your bank, the cause is almost always one of three things. Either your Aadhaar is not seeded with your bank account for DBT, or your college has not yet completed institute verification, or your bank account is closed, frozen, or wrongly entered. Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana is a Madhya Pradesh government scheme. It pays the college or professional course fee for MP students who score high marks in Class 12.

To be eligible, you must:

• Score at least 70% in Class 12 from the MP Board, or at least 85% from CBSE or ICSE.
• Have a family annual income of not more than ₹6 lakh from all sources.
• Be a resident of Madhya Pradesh and admitted to an approved course.

What it pays depends on your course. For engineering, the scheme pays the full tuition fee or up to ₹1,50,000 per year, whichever is lower. For medical and law courses, it pays the full tuition and admission fee. For other graduation courses, it pays the government-rate tuition fee. The exact rules and any change in limits are set in the official scheme order on the MMVY portal, so always confirm your course against the live list there.

The official portal is medhavikalyan.mp.gov.in. This is the only website where you should apply, upload documents, and check your status. Do not trust any other site or agent that asks for a fee.

The MMVY portal shows your application with a status label. Here is what the common labels mean for your fee.

If you are at “Sanctioned” or “Payment Generated” but no money has come, the problem is on the bank or Aadhaar side, not the application side. Go to the seeding fix next.

MMVY pays through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). DBT does not use your account number alone. It sends money to the one bank account that is “Aadhaar seeded” and set as the active DBT account in the NPCI mapper. If your Aadhaar is not seeded, or is seeded to an old account you no longer use, a sanctioned fee will not credit.

Do this to fix it:

1. Check first. See the Aadhaar bank seeding status guide to find which account, if any, your Aadhaar is linked to.
2. If it is not seeded, visit your bank branch with your Aadhaar card and passbook. Ask the bank to “seed and enable my Aadhaar for DBT” on the account you want the fee in.
3. If it is seeded to an old account, ask the bank to move the DBT seeding to your current active account. Only one account can be the DBT account at a time.
4. Wait for the bank to confirm. Seeding can take a day or two to update in the NPCI system.

Your college plays a key role in MMVY. After you apply, your application goes to your college nodal officer for institute verification. The college must confirm your admission, course, and fee. Until your college does this, your status stays at “Pending at Institute” and no fee can be sanctioned.

This stage is the most common reason for a long delay. Students often think the government is slow, but the file is actually waiting at the college.

Do this:

1. Go to your college scholarship cell or the office of the MMVY nodal officer.
2. Ask them to open the MMVY institute login and verify your pending application.
3. Make sure the fee amount they enter matches your admission receipt. A wrong fee figure can cause a short payment later.
4. Get the date when they verified it, so you can track the next stage.

Keep your own copy of your admission letter and fee receipt. If your college says your file is “not visible”, check that your profile and course details on the portal are complete and saved.

If your status says “Payment Failed” or “Returned”, the money tried to reach you but bounced back. This happens when the account is closed, frozen for incomplete KYC, blocked, or the account number on the portal is wrong.

Do this:

1. Confirm your bank account is open and your KYC is complete. A dormant or KYC-pending account will reject DBT.
2. Log in to the MMVY portal and check the bank account number and IFSC saved in your profile. Correct any typing mistake.
3. Re-do the Aadhaar seeding (Fix 1) on a working account.
4. After correcting, the department re-pushes failed payments in a later cycle. If it does not move after one cycle, raise a grievance on the portal with your application number.

If your status is correct, your seeding is active, your college has verified you, and the fee still does not credit after a full cycle, you can file an RTI to ask the department for the status and reason. The fee is cleared but the bank could not receive it. The usual reason is that your Aadhaar is not seeded with an active bank account for DBT. Do the Aadhaar-bank seeding fix, then wait for the next payment cycle.

Log in to medhavikalyan.mp.gov.in with your account and open your application. The status label there tells you which stage your fee is at, from “Pending at Institute” to “Payment Generated”.

Your college has not verified your application yet. Visit your college MMVY nodal officer and ask them to log in and verify your pending file. The fee cannot be sanctioned until they do this.
