1. Visit pmkisan.gov.in — Click “New Farmer Registration” — Rural or Urban farmer.
2. Enter Aadhaar + state — Aadhaar OTP verification. State + district selection.
3. Fill family + land details — Name (per Aadhaar), DoB, gender, address, land area in hectares, survey/khasra number.
4. Upload land record — Latest Khasra/Khatauni/7-12 extract showing your name as cultivator. Self-attested copy.
5. Bank account linkage — Aadhaar-linked bank account where instalment is credited. NPCI mapper must show active mapping.
6. Submit + receive farmer ID — PM-KISAN ID auto-generated. Note for tracking.
7. Field verification by Patwari — Patwari verifies land ownership + family eligibility. Submits to Tehsildar.
8. Approval + first instalment — After Tehsildar + state nodal officer approval, first Rs 2,000 credited within 60-90 days.
9. eKYC mandatory — Aadhaar OTP eKYC every year — without this, instalments stop. pmkisan.gov.in → eKYC.

• Land record name mismatch — Aadhaar name must match Bhulekh entry. Update one to match other (recommend Aadhaar update).
• eKYC failed (Aadhaar OTP not received) — biometric eKYC at CSC. Don't skip eKYC — instalments stop after 1 year.
• Instalment not credited — check status at pmkisan.gov.in. Common: bank Aadhaar de-linked, NPCI mapper inactive.
• Excluded category — IT taxpayer / govt employee / pensioner > Rs 10K. Refund + cancellation if claimed wrongly.
