IBPS and SBI bank jobs 2026: official application guide

IBPS Common Recruitment Processes and State Bank of India recruitment are separate. A single “bank PO or clerk form” does not cover both. The official notice for each cycle controls the opening date, eligibility, vacancies, fee, examination, documents and participating banks. Never rely on an old coaching page merely because its application button still works.

This page is the apply how-to: how to open the exact notice, prepare files, register, pay only inside the official flow, and keep a record you can use for a call letter, correction window, grievance or later RTI. It does not invent next-cycle dates or vacancy totals. Those numbers live only in the PDF you apply under.

Do not use this table as a substitute for the notice. It is a freshness checkpoint. An official corrigendum, court direction or administrative notice can change dates, vacancies or conditions.

IBPS conducts Common Recruitment Processes for participating banks. SBI publishes its own recruitment advertisement and selection process. SBI may use an ibpsreg.ibps.in technical registration page, but the governing advertisement must still be reached from the official SBI Careers page.

The practical rule is:

• start an IBPS application at ibps.in;
• start an SBI application at sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings;
• follow only the application link attached to the exact notice;
• save the full advertisement and every corrigendum;
• verify the cycle number before payment.

A search advertisement or copied registration link can be stale even when it opens a real domain.

IBPS CRP PO/MT and CRP CSA notices name the participating public sector banks for that cycle. Confirm the list in the PDF you apply under. Do not assume last year’s eleven-bank list, or that Bank of Baroda or any other bank has opted in or out, without reading the current notice. SBI Junior Associate and SBI PO are SBI-only recruitments.

RBI Grade B and Assistant recruitment is a third funnel at rbi.org.in. It is not an IBPS or SBI form. See the RBI Grade B exam page only as a separate process.

Prepare files before you open New Registration. The current notice’s annexure on scanning and upload is the authority for pixel size, kilobytes and wording. A coaching-site sample can be obsolete.

If your Aadhaar name differs from the matriculation name, fix the identity record first. Do not invent a “changed name” story inside the form. Follow the notice’s rule for a gazette, marriage or other name-change document.

Use this sequence for IBPS PO apply and IBPS clerk CSA forms. Substitute the cycle name printed on ibps.in (CRP PO/MT-XVI, CRP CSA-XVI, or the next numbered cycle).

1. Open ibps.in yourself. Type the address or use a saved bookmark. Do not start from a WhatsApp PDF, a “direct apply” coaching button, or a search advertisement. On the homepage open the Common Recruitment Process block and the exact cycle: CRP PO/MTs or CRP CSA.
2. Download the detailed notification PDF and every corrigendum. Record the recruitment name, cycle number, notice date and the last date for registration and for fee payment. A later “print application” date is not a new registration deadline.
3. Read eligibility from that PDF only. Check the crucial date for age, degree result, citizenship, local-language or state preference, category certificate, disability/scribe rules, and any debarment clause. Do not copy an age band or fee from a previous cycle onto this form.
4. Click New Registration on the official apply link attached to that notice. Enter basic details exactly as in matriculation. The system issues a registration number and password. Write both down offline and store the email/SMS. Do not screenshot the password into a shared album.
5. Fill personal, educational and preference fields. For PO/MT, rank participating banks only after you have read that cycle’s vacancy table. For CSA, state/UT preference and local-language requirement matter; a preference for a state with no vacancy in your category is not a hidden waiting list. Review category, centre, language and address before you continue.
6. Upload scans that match the annexure. Photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, and any 10th or disability file the notice lists. Use the official image tool if the portal provides one. If the form refuses a file, resize to the stated KB/pixel limits rather than uploading a third-party “IBPS photo maker” from an unknown site.
7. Preview every page. An application receipt does not prove eligibility. The recruitment body can scrutinise the record later and reject it.
8. Pay only inside the official payment page. Debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI as offered. Do not transfer a fee to a recruiter, consultant or personal UPI ID. Save the e-receipt and the submitted-form PDF.
9. Confirm status after payment. If the amount is debited but the form is not confirmed, wait for the notice’s stated reconciliation window and use the official grievance route. Do not pay a second time without checking status.

SBI advertisements are reached from sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings. The apply button on that page may open an ibpsreg.ibps.in technical host. That is normal when SBI uses IBPS infrastructure. A copied ibpsreg link that you did not open from the SBI Careers notice is not proof of the governing recruitment.

1. Open SBI current openings and download advertisement CRPD/PO/2026-27/09 (PO) or CRPD/CR/2026-27/17 (Junior Associate) — or the live advertisement number if a later cycle has replaced them.
2. Confirm the registration window, fee table, circle/state preference, local language if any, and documents annexure.
3. Register through the link on that SBI page. Save the registration number and password.
4. Fill the form, upload the stated scans, preview, and pay inside the official flow.
5. Print or save the e-receipt and application. SBI’s Junior Associate advertisement states that a printout of the application form is not to be sent to SBI.
6. For form, payment or call-letter problems, use the helpdesk printed in that advertisement (SBI’s Junior Associate 2026 notice lists telephone 022-22820427 on bank working days and a query lodgement host). Do not substitute a number from a previous year’s PDF.

You may apply for IBPS and SBI in the same year. They are independent. Clearing both does not create a right to pick a posting; each allotment follows its own notice.

Copy the fee from the PDF you are paying under. The figures below are what the current 2026 notices state. They are not a permanent tariff.

Bank transaction charges, where levied, are extra. The notices treat the application fee as non-refundable and not transferable to another exam. Category must match the certificate you will produce at document verification.

Do not pay an agent who promises a backdated form. Check whether the official page publishes an extension or correction window. A print deadline after registration closes does not reopen new registration. For example, the IBPS CSA-XVI registration page shows closure on 28 August and a later last date for printing; the printing date is not a new application deadline.

If you already applied, use only the official page for call letters, results, score displays, document upload or correction notices. If you did not apply, monitor the next official cycle rather than submitting identity documents to a third party.

IBPS published a tentative 2026-27 calendar. It lists the broad examination dates and tells candidates to watch ibps.in for detailed notifications. The calendar itself does not open registration or settle eligibility.

The 2026 calendar lists:

1. IBPS PO/MT-XVI prelims on 22 and 23 August and main exam on 4 October;
2. IBPS CSA-XVI prelims on 10 and 11 October and main exam on 27 December;
3. separate dates for Specialist Officers and RRB recruitments.

IBPS reserves the ability to change dates. Always pair the calendar with the current cycle page, call letter and corrigenda. This page does not invent interview or final-allotment dates beyond what those official documents show.

After a successful application, the next practical jobs are: download the call letter from the same official login; carry the documents the call letter lists; keep sectional timing and negative-marking rules from this notice, not a memory of 2018. Selection stages (preliminary, main, language test, personality test, interview, provisional allotment) are whatever the governing advertisement printed. Do not assume SBI PO and IBPS PO share one interview mark scheme.

Common causes are a scan that misses the kilobyte or pixel window, a name mismatch across Aadhaar and matriculation, a centre that is full, a payment that debited without updating the form, and a preference list left in the portal’s default order.

• Scan rejected: follow the notice annexure; retry with a fresh scan. Do not paste a signature onto a photo in an unknown app.
• Double debit: save both bank-statement lines and the portal status. Use the notice’s grievance or helpdesk path. Wait for the stated reconciliation before paying again.
• Login lockout: use the official forgot-password flow to the registered email/mobile. Do not send the password to a “IBPS help” Telegram ID.
• Correction window: use it only for fields the notice allows, within the published dates. A correction window is not a fresh registration.
• Centre full: apply earlier in the window next cycle; do not buy a “guaranteed centre” from an agent.

Document verification and pre-employment medical happen after provisional allotment, under the allotted bank’s instructions. Graduation mark sheets, category certificates, photo ID and the notice’s other list must match the application. A provisional degree is useful only if the notice accepts it. This page does not invent joining-letter timelines or training-college names.

Stop if a person or site:

• promises selection, marks or a posting for payment;
• uses a similar-looking domain instead of the official career page;
• asks for a fee by personal UPI, wallet or bank transfer;
• asks for an OTP, card PIN or UPI PIN over phone or chat;
• offers an application after the official deadline without an extension notice;
• sends an interview letter that cannot be matched to the official notice;
• claims IBPS and SBI share one combined PO or clerk registration;
• asks for original certificates through an unknown courier address.

IBPS published a warning about fraudulent websites resembling its site in April 2026. Type the official address or use a saved bookmark. If money is taken, call 1930 promptly and follow the payment-fraud response guide and the 1930 script.

Use the candidate-grievance link provided in the exact notice. Give the cycle, registration number, issue, date, screenshot and transaction reference. Do not publish login credentials in social media.

The Banking Ombudsman is for banking-service complaints, not for recruitment, allotment or exam scoring. Do not file a recruitment dispute there. CPGRAMS can carry a process complaint to the Department of Financial Services when the notice’s own desk has failed, but it is not a re-evaluation button and it will not reopen a closed form.

RTI may later seek existing recruitment records from a public authority where the Act applies, but it is not a substitute for the prescribed objection, grievance, correction or court process. Choose the correct PIO and ask for identifiable records, not re-evaluation or appointment. IBPS, SBI and the public-sector banks are typically public authorities; a request still has to name records they hold.

Useful record requests after results, when the notice’s own scorecard or objection window is over:

• your own preliminary or main score record as held;
• category-wise cutoff as published or held for that stage;
• the final answer key as held after the challenge window;
• the reason recorded for rejection at document verification or medical, from the allotted bank’s CPIO.

5. If any item is exempt, provide the non-exempt part and cite the clause. If another public authority holds an item, transfer that part under section 6(3).

Fee: as per the applicable RTI rules.

RTI will not re-allot a bank, disclose another candidate’s personal data, or rewrite a sectional cutoff. If you decline a provisional allotment, that cycle’s candidature lapses; the next official notification is a new application.

A graduate wants both an IBPS Customer Service Associate seat and an SBI Junior Associate seat in the same year. She bookmarks ibps.in and sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings. She downloads CRP CSA-XVI and SBI advertisement CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. She checks the crucial date for age and degree on each PDF, prepares photo, signature, thumb impression and the handwritten declaration using each notice’s wording, and registers two separate logins. She pays each fee only on that form’s payment page and saves both e-receipts. She does not send originals to a coaching “document verification desk”. If CSA registration has already closed on the day she reads this page, she uses the official login only for printing and later call letters, and she still checks whether the SBI Junior Associate window on the Careers page remains open through 31 August 2026. Nothing in this example is a score, cutoff or joining date.

The current IBPS process is titled Customer Service Associate, CRP CSA-XVI. People still search for “IBPS Clerk”, but use the official current title and notice.

The official registration page shows closure on 28 August 2026. A later printing deadline does not reopen registration.

On 29 August 2026, SBI's current-openings page lists applications through 31 August for advertisement CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. Recheck the official page before submitting.

Only when the exact link is reached from SBI's official Careers notice. SBI can use the IBPS registration infrastructure, but a copied link alone does not prove the governing recruitment.
