Direct answer. Any registered beneficiary can track her PMMVY application and payment status at pmmvy.wcd.gov.in using her registered mobile number or Beneficiary ID. OTP verification on your registered mobile is required. No documents are needed for the lookup itself.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is a central government maternity benefit programme run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. It transfers cash directly into a pregnant woman's Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). As of May 2026, the official portal shows 4.97 crore beneficiaries enrolled and over Rs. 20,247 crore disbursed.
PMMVY 2.0 (introduced in 2022 under Mission Shakti) changed both the instalment structure and the eligibility rules. The key split is:
Verify the current instalment amounts and timelines on pmmvy.wcd.gov.in before assuming a figure is final; government circulars may revise them.
Step 1. Open pmmvy.wcd.gov.in in any browser.
Step 2. On the Track Application Status page, enter either your Beneficiary ID (given at registration) or the mobile number you registered with the Anganwadi worker or on the PMMVY portal.
Step 3. Type the CAPTCHA characters shown on screen and click Validate.
Step 4. An OTP is sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it in the box provided.
Step 5. The portal displays your name, state, district, block, village, Anganwadi details, and your application and payment status.
If you applied through your Anganwadi worker and do not know your Beneficiary ID, use the mobile number you gave at registration instead.
Tip: If you have changed your phone number since registration, the OTP will go to the old number. Visit your Anganwadi centre to update the mobile number before trying the portal again.
Eligibility under PMMVY 2.0 requires the applicant to be a pregnant or lactating woman who meets at least one of the following category conditions:
The scheme covers the first live birth and, from PMMVY 2.0 onwards, also the second birth if the second child is a girl. Registration is accepted up to 270 days after delivery.
Husband's Aadhaar is no longer mandatory under PMMVY 2.0. This was one of the significant relaxations introduced in 2022.
For beneficiaries who are also enrolled under a state health scheme, check your eligibility separately under Ayushman Bharat status check, as PMJAY card holders are an automatic qualifying category here.
This is the most common concern. Work through these steps in order.
Check 1: DBT status at your bank
Your bank account must have two separate things active: (a) your Aadhaar number seeded to the account, and (b) DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) switched on. One does not automatically enable the other. Ask the bank counter staff to confirm both are active and to print a seeding confirmation.
Check 2: Rejection or hold reason on the portal
After logging in with your OTP, look carefully at the status message. Common reasons for a payment hold include: account number mismatch, Aadhaar not seeded, account frozen or dormant, or incorrect IFSC. Each of these has a specific fix at the bank or Anganwadi.
Check 3: ANC or immunisation record not updated
For PMMVY first-child benefits, each instalment is linked to a health milestone. If the health worker has not yet updated your ANC or immunisation record in the PMMVY system, the instalment trigger will not fire. Ask your ASHA or Anganwadi worker to verify that the records were uploaded.
Check 4: Contact the helpline
Call 1515 (available 9 am to 6 pm) or write to [email protected]. Keep your Beneficiary ID or registered mobile number ready.
Check 5: Visit the Anganwadi centre
Your local Anganwadi worker can view your record on the back-end system and identify the exact field causing the payment block. Mobile number changes, bank account corrections, and Aadhaar mismatches must all be corrected through the Anganwadi or the District Programme Officer's office.

Under PMMVY 2.0, self-registration is permitted across all states. You can create an account at pmmvy.wcd.gov.in and submit your application directly. The PMMVY mobile app (available on Google Play) offers the same function.
However, if self-registration is difficult (for example, because your Aadhaar details are not matching), your Anganwadi worker, ASHA, or Health Department worker can register you through the same portal. Most beneficiaries in rural areas are registered this way.
Documents you will need: Aadhaar card, Aadhaar-linked and DBT-enabled bank account details, mobile number, Mother-Child Protection (MCP) card or RCHI card, Last Menstrual Period (LMP) date, ANC record or antenatal visit dates, birth certificate (for second instalment onwards), and immunisation record.
Both are central government maternity cash schemes, but they operate under different ministries and serve different purposes. JSY (Janani Suraksha Yojana) is administered by the Health Ministry and primarily pays an incentive for institutional delivery (in a government hospital). Yes. The PMMVY 2.0 benefit for the second child is available if the second child born is a girl, regardless of the sex of the first child. The condition is the sex of the second child, not the sequence of a specific sex.
Yes. The first instalment (Rs. 3,000) is triggered by the ANC check-up record. The second instalment (Rs. 2,000) is triggered separately after the child is born and the first immunisation cycle is recorded in the system. Check with your Anganwadi worker that the immunisation record has been entered. If it has been entered and the payment is still delayed, call 1515.
The eligibility list includes BPL ration card holders specifically. If your ration card is not BPL-designated, check whether you qualify under any other category: E-Shram card, MGNREGA job card, PM Kisan beneficiary, or annual income below Rs. 8 lakh. PMMVY was designed precisely for women in the informal sector who have no paid maternity leave. A domestic worker or self-employed woman can qualify through the E-Shram card or income criteria. Enrol for an E-Shram card if you do not already have one, as it is one of the listed eligibility routes.
Beneficiaries who registered under the original scheme for their first child should already have a record on the portal. If you are applying for a second child (girl child) benefit under PMMVY 2.0, check with your Anganwadi worker whether your existing record can be extended or whether a fresh application is required for the second child benefit.
PMMVY is a central government scheme; state welfare schemes such as Lakshmir Bhandar are separate state programmes. There is no national rule preventing simultaneous enrolment, but individual state governments may have their own deduplication conditions. Check with your local Anganwadi office or District Programme Officer if you receive a state scheme payment and want to verify PMMVY eligibility.
