Direct answer. To check your Lakshmir Bhandar payment status, visit socialregistry.wb.gov.in, select your district, enter your registered mobile number, verify with the OTP, and your beneficiary status will appear on screen. Your money has not disappeared. Read on if anything looks wrong.

How to check your status right now

The West Bengal government maintains beneficiary records on the Social Registry portal. This is the official status-check system for Lakshmir Bhandar, operated by the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.

Official portal: socialregistry.wb.gov.in

Step 1: Open the official portal

Go to https://socialregistry.wb.gov.in/citizen/#/ on your phone or computer. Avoid third-party websites that ask for your Aadhaar or mobile number. Only use this official link.

Step 2: Select your district

From the drop-down menu, choose your district (for example, Kolkata, Murshidabad, or Paschim Medinipur). This routes your query to the correct block-level records.

Step 3: Enter your registered mobile number

Type the mobile number you used when you applied through the Duare Sarkar camp. If you are unsure, try the number linked to your Aadhaar card.

Step 4: Verify with OTP

Click “Get OTP.” You will receive a one-time password on your registered mobile. Enter it in the OTP field and click “Verify.”

Step 5: View your beneficiary profile

Your profile page will show:

  • Application status (pending / approved / rejected)
  • Payment status (credited / not credited)
  • Bank account number on record
  • Amount last transferred and the credit date

Write down your application ID shown on screen. You will need it if you have to escalate to your block office or file an RTI.

Who is eligible for Lakshmir Bhandar?

The Lakshmir Bhandar scheme was launched on 1 December 2020 for women who are permanent residents of West Bengal and applied through a Duare Sarkar camp.

You are eligible if you are:

  • A woman aged 25 to 60 years
  • A permanent resident of West Bengal
  • Not a permanent or retired government employee drawing a salary or pension
  • Not an income taxpayer
  • Not teaching or non-teaching staff at a government-aided educational institution

You are not eligible if:

  • You or any household member is a permanent or retired government employee
  • Your household pays income tax
  • You own more than 2 hectares of agricultural land (general category)

For the current eligibility criteria and any updates, verify directly on socialsecurity.wb.gov.in.

How much is the payment and when does it come?

The Lakshmir Bhandar scheme pays a monthly amount directly into your Aadhaar-linked bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme has two payment tiers: SC/ST beneficiaries receive a higher amount than general-category beneficiaries.

For the exact current monthly figures (which may have been revised since the scheme launched), check your beneficiary profile on socialregistry.wb.gov.in or contact your block office. The official portal is the only reliable source for your personalised payment amount and credit schedule.

Payment dates: There is no single fixed date that applies to all beneficiaries. Payments are credited monthly by the government in batches. Log in to the portal to see the last credit date for your account.

What to do if status is not showing, rejected, or money is not credited

Do not panic. These are the most common problems and all have a resolution path.

Status shows "no record found"

This usually means a mismatch between the mobile number you entered and what is registered in the system.

  • Try your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
  • Try the number you gave at the Duare Sarkar camp when you applied
  • If still not found, visit your local block office (rural) or sub-divisional office (urban) with your Aadhaar card and the original application acknowledgement slip

Status shows "under verification" or "pending" for more than 60 days

Your application may be waiting for recommendation at the Block Development Officer (BDO) or Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) level.

  • Visit the BDO or SDO office in person and ask for the status by your name and application number
  • If you do not get a clear written answer within 7 days of visiting, file an RTI (see below)

Status shows "approved" but money has not arrived

  • Confirm that the bank account linked to your Aadhaar is active and not dormant
  • Check that your Aadhaar and bank account are properly linked. Visit your bank branch if unsure.
  • Ask your bank to check whether a DBT credit was returned due to an account mismatch or inactive account
  • If the account details on record are wrong, visit your block office with your bank passbook and Aadhaar card to request a correction

For further help on DBT payment issues, see PM-KISAN status check for a comparable DBT troubleshooting walkthrough, or e-Shram card status for Aadhaar-linked DBT guidance.

Status shows "rejected"

  • Ask the BDO or SDO office for the written reason for rejection
  • If the rejection appears wrong (for example, wrongly marked as a government employee), appeal to the District Magistrate
  • If no written reason is provided, file an RTI requesting the grounds for rejection and the name of the deciding officer (see RTI section below)

Portal is down or not loading

  • Try again after a few hours. The portal is sometimes under scheduled maintenance.
  • Visit the nearest Duare Sarkar camp if one is active in your area. Officials can check your status offline.
  • Visit your block office during working hours with your Aadhaar card

Frequently asked questions

How do I check my status without a smartphone?

Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC, also called Tathya Mitra Kendra) in your area. The operator can check your status using your Aadhaar number or application ID for a small service fee. Alternatively, visit your local block office in person; they have offline access to beneficiary records.

My mobile number has changed since I applied. What do I do?

Visit your block office (rural) or sub-divisional office (urban) with proof of your old and new mobile numbers and your Aadhaar card. Request a mobile number update in your beneficiary record before trying the portal again.

My Aadhaar-linked bank account is different from what the portal shows. What do I do?

Visit your block office with a copy of your bank passbook and Aadhaar card. Request a bank account correction in your beneficiary record. Once corrected, the next monthly payment will go to the updated account. Payments to the old account may be returned to the government and credited after correction.

Why does the portal say I am not eligible when I think I am?

The most common reasons are: your household is marked as having a government employee, your Aadhaar-linked name does not match records, or your Swasthya Sathi enrolment is not properly linked. Visit your block office with your Aadhaar card, Swasthya Sathi card, and bank passbook to request a data correction.

How long after approval does the first payment take?

After your application is approved at the District Magistrate level, the first payment typically takes 30 to 60 days to credit. If no payment arrives within 60 days of approval, visit your block office with proof of approval.

Where can I complain if the block office is not helping?

File a grievance on the CM Helpline (1800-345-5555), or send a written complaint to the District Magistrate. If that also fails, file an RTI (it takes under 10 minutes using the free tool linked at the bottom of this page).
