The 2026 state fee table
Fees moved in 2026, so this table replaces every older summary. Maharashtra hiked its fee in June 2026 and then rolled the application fee back to ₹10 on 7 July 2026 while keeping a ₹20 appeal fee. Haryana's long-quoted ₹50 is history — the operative figure is ₹10. The rows below carry the verified numbers.

Two appeal-fee truths the calculator's fine print should never hide: Bihar charges ₹10 per appeal and Maharashtra ₹20 per appeal; in every other verified state appeals are free.

- Court copying-branch fees — certified judicial copies follow court rules, not the RTI schedule
Reading your inspection number
The inspection column is where states quietly differ, and it changes your total if you sit with a file for two hours. At the Centre and in most states the first hour is free and each further hour is ₹5 — so two hours costs ₹5. In Uttar Pradesh the first hour itself costs ₹10 and every fifteen minutes after that adds ₹5 — two hours costs ₹50. In Assam and Maharashtra the post-first-hour rate is per fifteen minutes. Enter the hours in the calculator, but sanity-check the product against the state page before you pay.
