RRB NTPC — results, panels and the RTI route

RRB NTPC — results and RTI — RTI Wiki

Quick Reply: Railway Recruitment Boards are public authorities under the RTI Act. For an NTPC result, normalization or panel query: track the CEN notices first — applications on rrbapply.gov.in, notices on the unified RRB site — then RTI the Board you applied through for the record: result-processing dates, cut-off computation, your normalized score and panel status. ₹10, 30 days.

Applications: rrbapply.gov.in — the online application portal named in the CEN

Notices: the unified Railway Recruitment Board site under the Ministry of Railways; individual RRB pages carry CEN-specific updates

Exam: CBT in stages per the CEN, with normalization across shifts

RTI to: the CPIO of the Railway Recruitment Board you applied through — RRBs are offices of the Ministry of Railways

The Non-Technical Popular Categories recruitment is the Railways' largest graduate-and-undergraduate intake, run through Centralised Employment Notices that assign each candidate to one Railway Recruitment Board. Everything in the process is indexed by two numbers — the CEN number and your registration number — and every RTI, representation and document-verification notice runs on them. A query that quotes both numbers moves; one without them stalls.

The order of operations

  1. Read the CEN. The notice is the contract of the process: eligibility, stages, normalization rule, document verification and the panel. Nearly every dispute is answered in a paragraph the candidate skipped.
  2. Track the notice pages. Result announcements, score-link windows, cut-offs and DV schedules are published as CEN-specific notices; application status was moved onto the rrbapply portal for recent cycles.
  3. Represent within windows. Provisional answer keys and score links open short challenge windows — that is the official channel for key disputes, exactly as with SSC.
  4. Then RTI for the record. Evaluation and panel files are administrative records held by a public authority.

The RTI that works

1. The present status of result processing for CEN No. _____,
Stage _____, and the stage at which the file stands as on date.
2. My raw and normalized marks for each shift and stage under
registration no. _____, with the normalization formula applied.
3. The date of approval of the final result and the constitution
   of the result committee.
4. The cut-off marks for my category for each stage of this CEN.
5. My present position in the panel / waiting list for the post and
unit, and the number of candidates empanelled ahead of me.
6. The dates of document verification conducted for this CEN at
my allotted venue, and the outcome recorded against me.

Wait — code block bug: I wrote `</WRAP>` inside the code block. Must fix: close with `</code>` only. Let me correct that line when finalizing — actually I must rewrite the file cleanly. I'll rewrite the whole file now without the stray tag.

The four identifiers every query runs on

An RRB file is a database row, not a folder — queries fail when any of the four keys is missing:

  1. The CEN number — the recruitment's identity: stage, cut-offs and notices all hang on it.
  2. Your registration number — the application's identity across every stage and every RTI.
  3. The shift date and time — the normalization input; a marks query without it cannot be answered precisely.
  4. The post and unit preference list — the panel is built post-wise and unit-wise; ask for your position against that exact row.

Quote all four and the reply is a lookup. Quote two and the reply is a transfer or a refusal — which is why the template above bakes them into the questions.

Escalation

  • First appeal to the FAA of the Board within 30 days of silence or refusal.
  • Second appeal to the Central Information Commission within 90 days after that.
  • Ministry route: the Railway Board, Ministry of Railways, for policy-level inaction; CPGRAMS keeps a central clock running alongside.

Frequently asked questions

Which RRB is my RTI addressed to?

The Board you chose in the application — it holds your registration, evaluation and panel records; a different Board will only transfer the application and cost you days.

Is normalization applied to NTPC CBTs?

Yes — CBTs run in multiple shifts and scores are normalized per the formula in the CEN; your own normalized computation can be sought under RTI.

Can I get a re-evaluation of my CBT?

There is no individual re-evaluation; the answer-key challenge window is the dispute channel, and the record afterwards answers to RTI.

Do panels expire?

Panels operate for the validity stated in the CEN notices; empanelled candidates are called against indents as vacancies clear — the RTI above asks for your position and the numbers ahead.

Last reviewed: 26 August 2026. Application portal verified against rrbapply.gov.in and the unified RRB site this run; the old page carried a 30-day re-totalling claim that the RRB process does not provide, and it has been removed.
