The RTI and its appeal pertains to Sh. Harinder Dhingra.

The Commission observed that it is surprising that the public authority could not discover such a serious issue of impersonation from the documents submitted by the applicant and the files available with their own office. The Commission finds an urgent need to probe into this impersonation scandal. The Commission directed the public authority headed by Director General to consider the RTI applications and the appeal by the appellant as formal complaint and inform the Commission about the action taken on the complaint within two months from the date of the order1).

National Statistics Day 2026: Data and Your Rights

Quick Reply: India observes National Statistics Day 2026 on 29 June. See how government data affects ration, pension, salary, school, health and RTI rights.

Today, 29 June 2026, India observes National Statistics Day 2026, not UN World Statistics Day. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation says this is the 20th Statistics Day, and the 2026 theme is “Unlocking the Potential of Administrative Data”. (PIB/MoSPI, 25 June 2026)

That may sound like a government-office subject. It is not. The price index that affects your salary dearness allowance, the ration-card database that decides grain delivery, the school enrolment record that decides classrooms, and the hospital claim record that decides cashless treatment are all statistics in action. When the data is correct, services move. When it is wrong, citizens stand in queues.

Answer first. India celebrates Statistics Day India every year on 29 June to mark the birth anniversary of Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis. For Statistics Day 2026, the official theme is administrative data India – records already created by government departments while delivering public services. World Statistics Day is different: the UN observes it every five years on 20 October; the latest was 20 October 2025. The citizen lesson is simple: good government statistics India can help you get ration, pension, school, health, salary and RTI answers faster.

National Doctors Day 2026 in India falls on 1 July 2026. Doctors' Day is not only about thanking doctors or forwarding a greeting. It is also a day to understand how doctors shape childbirth, vaccination, school health, emergency care, public hospitals, health certificates, disability certificates, insurance claims, public health surveillance, patient rights and hospital accountability.

In one ordinary family, a doctor may sign the birth record, vaccinate the child, treat fever, certify fitness for school or work, handle an accident case, guide an elderly parent, support a mental-health referral, issue a medico-legal note, and finally certify death. From birth certificate to emergency ward, doctors touch almost every citizen's life.

Answer first. National Doctors Day India is observed on 1 July. It is linked with the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, a physician, former Chief Minister of West Bengal and Bharat Ratna awardee. Doctors matter to common citizens because they connect treatment with records, schemes, certificates, public health and trust. On Doctors Day 2026, thank doctors respectfully, avoid abuse of medical staff, keep your medical records organised, understand your medicines, verify health information before forwarding it, and use RTI only for appropriate public-hospital or health-department records.
