Step-by-step
- Confirm with your school, college or university whether APAAR / ABC ID is required for your course.
- Use the official Academic Bank of Credits, DigiLocker or institution-provided route.
- Match your name, date of birth, gender and mobile details with school and identity records.
- Download or note the ID only after checking spelling and institution mapping.
- If details are wrong, ask the institution to correct the source record before creating duplicate IDs.

Red flags and cautions
- Do not share Aadhaar OTP with agents.

If the matter is stuck
- Raise a written complaint on the official portal, app, helpdesk, school, office, bank, distributor or RTO route that controls the record.
- Save the ticket number, date and reply.
- Ask for a written reason if the status is delayed, rejected, hidden or inconsistent.
- Where a public authority holds the record, RTI can ask for file status, action taken, reasons recorded, officer name/designation and copies of non-exempt records.
