If your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar, you cannot use the online route. Visit a centre instead.
After correcting your Aadhaar, re-verify your linked accounts:
Yes. Name corrections can be done online at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in if your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar. Upload a valid Proof of Identity (such as a PAN card or passport). Name changes are subject to a frequency limit set by UIDAI; check the current limit on the portal before applying.
Only once, as a rule. The UIDAI Standard Operating Procedure for DOB Update states that once a birth certificate is submitted and the DOB is corrected, no further changes are ordinarily allowed. A declared or approximate DOB may be updated with documentary proof, but after that the record is treated as final.
The online document update service (uploading fresh supporting documents) is free until 14 June 2027 per UIDAI's extension of May 2026. Online demographic field updates (such as changing an address value) carry a fee; check the exact online amount at the payment step on myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
Mobile number changes cannot be done online. You must visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or enrolment centre, carry your Aadhaar and a valid identity document, and request the mobile update in person. The fee is Rs 75 (demographic service).
Processing generally takes 30 to 90 days after submission. Track the request using your URN on myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in under “Check Aadhaar Update Status.” Approval, rejection, or a request for additional documents will appear in the status tracker.
UIDAI will indicate the reason for rejection in the status tracker. Common reasons include a document that is unclear, mismatched, or not on the acceptable list. You can submit a fresh request with a correct document. If you believe the rejection is unjustified, you can file a grievance at pgportal.gov.in or contact UIDAI on the helpline below.
Yes. A parent or guardian can update demographic details for a child's Aadhaar using the same online or centre route. Biometric updates for children under five (Baal Aadhaar) are mandatory at ages 5 and 15 when full biometrics are captured; these are done at a centre.
