 +That is **21 states, UTs and regions lifted to the ₹300 base**, by design — the lowest notified wage under MGNREGA was ₹241, and the Ministry statement says the largest increases went to historically low-wage states. Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland gained the most, nearly 24.5 per cent.

 +===== What changed from MGNREGA =====

 +The Viksit Bharat — Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), **VB-G RAM G Act, 2025** replaced the MGNREGA law from 1 July 2026. For your wage slip, three things changed:

 +  - **The rate:** notified afresh under Section 10 of the new Act, combining annual indexation with a **₹300 interim base wage rate** so that no notified wage falls below ₹300. The average increase is a little over 10 per cent, or ₹28.6 a day.
 +  - **The guarantee:** **125 days** of wage employment per rural household per year, up from 100 days under MGNREGA.
 +  - **The notification's authority:** the 30 June 2026 notification supersedes the Ministry's earlier wage notification dated 26 February 2013.

 +**A typical September 2026 case:** Ramesh of Samastipur, Bihar, worked 14 days in August. His account credit worked out to less than ₹300 a day — the system was still applying his 2025-26 rate. The notified Bihar rate from 1 July 2026 is ₹300, so his muster for 14 days owed him ₹4,200. The gap per worker looks small; across a village of 60 workers it runs into thousands of rupees. One written complaint with the muster photocopy, quoting the 30 June 2026 notification, got the differential credited with the next week's FTO.

 +==== Which state has the highest VB-GRAMG wage rate? ====
 +Haryana, at ₹409 a day. One wage region beats it: the Gnathang, Lachung and Lachen Gram Panchayats of Sikkim at ₹450. Then come Goa at ₹406 and Kerala at ₹401.
