1. Where do you live?
PMAY-Gramin covers villages and rural Gram Panchayats. PMAY-Urban 2.0 covers towns + Notified Areas + Statutory Towns + Census Towns.
2. Does your family own a pucca house anywhere in India?
"Pucca" = brick/concrete walls + brick/concrete roof. Family = you, spouse, unmarried children. A pucca house anywhere in India disqualifies you.
3. What is your annual household income?
Total annual income of all earning family members combined. PMAY-Urban tiers — EWS up to Rs 3 lakh, LIG up to Rs 6 lakh, MIG-I up to Rs 9 lakh, MIG-II up to Rs 12 lakh. Beyond Rs 12 lakh = not eligible.
4. Land + assets test
PMAY-Gramin disqualifies any household with: a motorised 4-wheeler / tractor / mechanised farm equipment; a Kisan Credit Card with credit limit above Rs 50,000; any government job; a refrigerator + landline; income-tax payer; professional-tax payer; > 2.5 acres irrigated or > 5 acres unirrigated land. Pick what applies.
5. Are you on the SECC 2011 list or the Awaas+ 2024-25 enumeration?
For PMAY-Gramin, your household must appear on either the original SECC 2011 list or the refreshed Awaas+ 2024-25 survey list. If you're not sure, select "Don't know" — RTI surfaces it.
6. Is at least one adult in the family above 18?
PMAY-U 2.0 requires at least one adult member in the eligible household. Senior citizens, single women, widows, persons with disabilities are eligible.
7. Do any of these apply to your household? (boosts priority)
SC/ST household, single woman head, widow, transgender, PwD member, manual scavenger family. None? — that's fine, you can still qualify; this just affects your priority on the wait list.
Disclaimer. This is a citizen-help eligibility indicator based on publicly published PMAY-G Operational Guidelines 2016 (with amendments through FY 2025-26), PMAY-Urban 2.0 (2024) framework, SECC 2011 + Awaas+ 2024-25 survey criteria. The actual eligibility decision is taken by the **Block Development Officer (PMAY-G)** or the **Urban Local Body Commissioner (PMAY-U)** after Gram Sabha / ULB ratification. If this tool says you appear eligible but your application is stuck, file a free RTI to your BDO / CMO — the PIO must reply in 30 days under §7(1) of the RTI Act, 2005.
