What counts as CPD hours

CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is structured, documented learning that sits on top of daily job experience. This course delivers 30 hours across:

  • Reading the module texts (~15 hours) — the core statutes and case-law analysis.
  • Watching the module videos (~8 hours) — practitioner walkthroughs.
  • Doing the module quizzes and drafting exercises (~4 hours).
  • Sitting the final 60-MCQ assessment (~1 hour).
  • Working through at least three drafting templates (~2 hours).

Your dashboard tracks time-on-module automatically once you're enrolled.

Assessment

  • Format: 60 multiple-choice questions, drawn from all 12 quiz banks.
  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Access: open-book. The Act, our KB, and your notes are all fair game.
  • Pass mark: 70% (42 of 60).
  • Question sampling: weighted toward high-impact modules (5 — the ten grounds — and 8 — §11 procedure — carry more weight).
  • Attempts: unlimited retakes — the course is free.

The certificate

  • Format: A-4 landscape PDF, digitally signed by the instructor.
  • Content: your name (as registered), the course title, date of completion, certificate ID, percentage score, 30-CPD-hour claim.
  • Verification URL: https://righttoinformation.wiki/cpd/verify/<ID> — public page that displays the same details and confirms the certificate is valid.
  • Shareable: you can add the verification URL to your LinkedIn profile, CV, or departmental training record.

There is no Indian statute that issues or accredits RTI-specific CPD certificates — this is the case for all third-party CPD in this field. * Not a licence. Holding the certificate does not authorise any professional function that is otherwise regulated. * Not a substitute for your organisation's internal training mandate — use it as a supplement. Some training departments (state academies, PSU L&D teams) recognise external CPD certificates on a case-by-case basis.
