LPG subsidy status under PAHAL DBTL is whether a Direct Benefit Transfer reached your Aadhaar-seeded bank after a cylinder. Use the 17-digit LPG ID on mylpg.in, then confirm on Indane, HP Gas, or Bharat Gas. PMUY is a different free-connection scheme.
On this page
The consumer key is the 17-digit LPG ID. It is on the subsidy booklet, the cylinder document, distributor SMS, or the company app. Government PAHAL pages ask for this ID. Do not invent a shorter “consumer number” and hope the portal guesses.
Open the Government of India LPG portal mylpg.in. Pick Indane, Bharat Gas, or HP Gas. Open the PAHAL (DBTL) subsidy status option for that company. Enter the 17-digit LPG ID or the registered mobile the form asks for. Complete OTP if prompted.
Read whether Aadhaar and bank are linked. Read recent cylinder and subsidy history. Then open the same month on your bank passbook. Portal history without a credit is not “money in hand”.
① Find the 17-digit LPG ID on the booklet or app → ② Open mylpg.in and pick Indane, HP Gas or Bharat Gas → ③ Check PAHAL seeding and subsidy history → ④ Match the bank passbook → ⑤ If seeded and still no credit, write to the distributor, then RTI the oil company PIO
If you do not know the 17-digit ID, use the “know your LPG ID” help on the official PAHAL / mylpg pages, or ask the distributor in writing. Do not give OTP to a WhatsApp number that claims to recover the ID.
mylpg.in is the common GoI door. Each oil company also has its own customer login. Use the company that actually supplies your cylinder.
| Company | Official customer portal | What to open |
|---|---|---|
| Indane (IndianOil) | cx.indianoil.in | PAHAL / subsidy section, or IndianOil ONE app |
| Bharat Gas (BPCL) | my.ebharatgas.com | Subsidy status on the official BPCL app or site |
| HP Gas (HPCL) | myhpgas.in | PAHAL / subsidy section on the official HP app or site |
Compare the credit shown there with the bank statement. A distributor screen that says “processed” is not proof the bank posted the amount.
Download only the official IndianOil, BPCL, or HP app from the official store listing. Fake “gas subsidy” apps harvest OTP.
Do not mix these two schemes.
| Scheme | What it is | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
| PAHAL (DBTL) | Pratyaksh Hanstantrit Labh. Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG to a seeded bank account after a domestic cylinder, where subsidy still applies | Not a free connection. Not a cash-in-hand at the distributor |
| PMUY (Ujjwala) | Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. A free or supported connection scheme for eligible households | Not the same as PAHAL cash subsidy. Connection first, then PAHAL rules for later cylinders |
Under PAHAL you pay the market price at delivery. The subsidy, where it applies to you, is then transferred by DBT. Not every household receives a cash subsidy. Current policy, category, and location decide that. A zero or no-subsidy entry can be correct.
This page does not print a rupee-per-cylinder figure. Subsidy amounts change with government policy. Quote the amount on your mylpg.in history and bank statement. Ignore forwards that name a round figure for “this month's gas subsidy”.
PMUY beneficiaries still need Aadhaar and bank seeding for later DBT credits. Connection under Ujjwala does not by itself prove a PAHAL credit after every refill.
Ration and farm DBT are different portals. See how to apply for ration card and how to apply for PM-Kisan.
For DBT to reach you, Aadhaar and the bank account must be seeded with the bank and with the LPG distributor. Name mismatch is a common fail. If Aadhaar name and bank name differ, the credit can bounce.
Seed Aadhaar at the bank first. Then ask the distributor to seed the same Aadhaar and account on the LPG database. Recheck both flags on mylpg.in.
Aadhaar enrolment itself is a UIDAI process. See how to apply for Aadhaar. If PAN-Aadhaar name mismatch is also blocking other KYC, use PAN-Aadhaar name mismatch KYC fix.
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| 17-digit LPG ID | Identifies the connection on mylpg.in and company sites |
| Registered mobile | Login and OTP |
| Gas company name | You must pick Indane, Bharat Gas, or HP Gas |
| Aadhaar seeding status | Needed for the DBT credit to be attempted |
| Bank passbook or statement | Confirms whether the credit actually arrived |
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| Aadhaar not linked to the connection | Seed Aadhaar with the distributor and the bank |
| Bank account not seeded for DBT | Ask the bank to seed the account with Aadhaar |
| Name or detail mismatch | Get records corrected at the bank or distributor |
| KYC pending at the distributor | Complete KYC. Keep the receipt |
| Policy or category means no cash subsidy | A zero entry can be correct under current rules |
| Recent cylinder still in process | Recheck portal and passbook. Do not invent a day-count |
There is no statutory “credit within N working days” on this page. Use the portal history plus the passbook. If both stay empty after a delivered cylinder, and seeding looks correct, write to the distributor with the 17-digit ID and the delivery reference.
Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum are public authorities. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) is the ministry. The consumer record sits with the oil company and the distributor. File RTI there first.
File under RTI Act 2005 s.6(1) to the PIO of IOCL, BPCL, or HPCL for your connection, or to the MoPNG PIO if you need a policy record that the company does not hold. The PIO must reply in 30 days under s.7(1). First appeal is s.19(1).
Write to the distributor before RTI. Keep the reference. RTI asks for seeding flags, cylinder delivery, and DBT attempts. It does not order a rupee amount.
1. Current PAHAL / DBTL status of LPG ID [17-digit number], distributor [name], company Indane / HP Gas / Bharat Gas, as on the date of this reply. 2. Whether Aadhaar and bank account are seeded on this connection, with the dates of seeding. 3. Cylinder deliveries and DBT attempts for the last [N] refills, including any failure reason returned by the bank or NPCI. 4. Name and designation of the official with whom any failed credit is pending, and from which date. 5. Action taken on distributor or company complaint [number] dated [date].

Illustrative scenario. A household sees a cylinder delivery on the app and a zero on the passbook. Seeding on mylpg.in looks complete. They write to the distributor with the 17-digit LPG ID, then RTI the oil company PIO for the DBT attempt log and the bank failure reason. That is a movement request, not a demand to pay a quoted subsidy rupee.
Use mylpg.in. Pick Indane, Bharat Gas, or HP Gas. Enter the 17-digit LPG ID. You can also log in to cx.indianoil.in, my.ebharatgas.com, or myhpgas.in. Each shows PAHAL history. Confirm against the bank statement.
A zero entry is not always an error. Cash subsidy depends on current policy, category, and location. Confirm Aadhaar and bank seeding. If you believe you are eligible, ask the distributor in writing, then RTI the oil company for the DBT log.
PAHAL DBTL is Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG subsidy, where it applies, to a seeded bank account. PMUY is a connection scheme. They are not the same product. A Ujjwala connection still needs PAHAL seeding for later DBT.
This page does not print a day-count. There is no single statutory clock quoted here. Recheck seeding, portal history, and the passbook. If a delivered cylinder has no matching credit and seeding is complete, raise it with the distributor.
Yes. DBT needs Aadhaar and the bank account seeded with the bank and the distributor. Name mismatch can bounce the credit. Fix Aadhaar and bank records first.
Do not trust a quoted rupee. Amounts follow government policy and your portal history. Read mylpg.in and the passbook. Do not plan a household budget from a WhatsApp figure.
Start with the PIO of IOCL, BPCL, or HPCL for your 17-digit LPG ID. Use MoPNG when you need a ministry policy record the company does not hold. Grievance to the distributor first.
Some company forms accept the registered mobile and then OTP. Keep the 17-digit LPG ID anyway. It is the number you will quote in a complaint and in RTI.
