• Proof of Date of Birth (PoB) — pick ANY 1 — Birth certificate · SSLC/Class 10 marksheet · Passport · Group A gazetted officer certificate on letterhead · PAN card · Govt photo ID issued before 30 Sep 2015
• Proof of Relationship (PoR) — for children under 5 — Birth certificate of child + Aadhaar of either parent · Hospital discharge slip · School ID · Adoption deed (if applicable)

• Mobile number — Strongly recommended — required for OTP-based services later. Free at enrolment.
• Email ID — Optional but useful for e-Aadhaar download.
• Existing Aadhaar of head-of-family — For HoF-based enrolment of family members (lighter doc requirements).

• All documents must be originals for verification (returned after capture).
• Photocopies/scans NOT accepted at enrolment centres.
• Names should match exactly between PoI and PoA — minor mismatches lead to QC hold.
• For minors under 5, no biometric capture — only photo. Re-enrolment at age 5 + 15 mandatory.
• No fee for first enrolment, biometric updates Rs. 100, address updates online Rs. 50.

• Q: Can I enrol without any of the listed documents? — Yes — under “Introducer” route. A registered Introducer (with Aadhaar) can vouch for your identity at the enrolment centre. UIDAI also accepts village headman / gram-sabha letter for rural enrolment.
• Q: Do I need separate documents if my address changed after Aadhaar? — No — only PoA needed. Update online at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in (Rs. 50) or at any centre.
• Q: My name has differences across PoI and PoA. Will it be rejected? — Minor differences (initials vs full) are tolerated. Major (different name) requires affidavit + gazette notification.
• Q: I am a foreign national living in India. Can I get Aadhaar? — Yes if resident for 182+ days in last 12 months. Use OCI/visa as PoI + Indian address proof.
• Q: Lost my enrolment receipt. Can I still get Aadhaar? — Yes — UIDAI 1947 helpline can search by name + DoB + state. Free.
