Common mistakes

  • Land not in your name — joint family land needs mutation in your name at Tehsildar.
  • Hiding income tax payment — DBT freezes when verification crosschecks ITD.
  • Multiple registrations in family — flagged + cancelled. Only one family member is eligible.
  • Aadhaar-bank not seeded — instalment shows “released” but doesn't credit. Branch visit fixes.
  • eKYC pending — recurring re-eKYC required (typically every 5 years).
  • Land sold but not de-registered — fraud. Penalty + recovery.

Latest updates (2026)

  • eKYC mandatory — completed for all active beneficiaries by Q1 2026.
  • Land records integration — Bhulekh / Bhumi portals integrated; auto-verification reducing wait.
  • Female farmer enrolment drive — 2025–26 push to register woman landholders separately.

FAQ

Why didn't I get the latest instalment?

5 most common reasons: (1) eKYC pending, (2) land verification stuck at Revenue Dept, (3) Aadhaar-bank not seeded, (4) name/DOB mismatch between Aadhaar and bank, (5) recent disqualification flag (ITR / govt job filed). Check status at pmkisan.gov.in → Beneficiary Status.

I'm a tenant farmer. Can I get PM-KISAN?

Generally no — PM-KISAN goes to the landholding farmer. Some states (Andhra Pradesh, Odisha) recognise tenants via formal Lease Cultivation Certificate.

I sold my land. Will my PM-KISAN continue?

No — once you're not the landholding farmer, you're disqualified. Failure to disclose = recovery + penalty.

Can I appeal disqualification?

Yes — file First Appeal under §19(1) RTI to District Agriculture Officer within 30 days of rejection. Or file fresh registration after fixing the qualifying issue.

Can a woman farmer apply if husband is also a farmer?

Only one family member is eligible. Pick whichever is more secure (longer landholding, mobile-linked Aadhaar). Most cases, woman as primary is preferred (post-2025 govt push).

What if my eKYC fails?

Update Aadhaar mobile at UIDAI Seva Kendra + biometric re-verification. Visit nearest CSC for assisted eKYC.
