Quick answer. Check your voter ID (EPIC) application status on the Voters' Services Portal run by the Election Commission of India — voters.eci.gov.in. Use Track Application Status at voters.eci.gov.in/home/track and enter the reference ID you got when you applied. Once approved, download your e-EPIC (digital voter ID PDF) from voters.eci.gov.in → Download e-EPIC. To confirm your name is on the roll, use electoralsearch.eci.gov.in.
If you are short on time: jump to How to check voter ID status. Use only the official ECI portal — never a private “voter ID” site asking for payment.

Confirm with the electoral roll search first. If it is genuinely missing, submit Form 6 to register, or Form 8 to fix an error in an existing entry. Track the reference ID afterwards.
Timelines depend on Booth Level Officer verification and the electoral roll revision cycle. Track your reference ID for the current stage. If it stalls for a long time, use the Voter Helpline (1950) and your Electoral Registration Office.
