Subsidy how it works
You pay full price of cylinder at delivery (current ~₹900–1,100 in most states).
Within 2–7 days, ₹300 subsidy credited to your Aadhaar-linked bank account.
Effective price ≈ ₹600–800.
For first 12 cylinders of the year, subsidy applies. 13th+ = market rate (no subsidy).
Subsidy not received?
Check Aadhaar–bank seeding (most common cause).
Verify on the MyLPG.in app or website.
Call 1906 or distributor helpline.

Common mistakes
Aadhaar–bank not seeded — subsidy silent failure.
Multiple LPG connections in family — only one allowed per household. Surrender duplicates first.
Wrong distributor for your area — distributor catchment areas matter; pick the one closest.
Expecting subsidy on 13th+ cylinder — only 12/year are subsidised.
Trusting agents charging ₹500–2,000 fee — Ujjwala connection is free. No agent fee allowed.
Connection inactive 24 months — distributor may reverify; not lost but needs KYC update.
Latest updates (2026)
Ujjwala 2.0 expansion — fully active. Migrants, tea workers, Ganga ghat communities all eligible.
5 kg cylinder option — now available in Ujjwala 2.0 for low-income / single-person households.
DBT subsidy — fully migrated to direct bank credit (no more “double subsidy” cycle).
PAHAL integration — all Ujjwala beneficiaries auto-enrolled in PAHAL DBT.
FAQ
I already have an LPG connection in my husband's name. Can I still get Ujjwala?
No — only one connection per household. Surrender existing first (visit distributor, get refund of ₹1,600 deposit), then apply for Ujjwala in your (woman's) name.
I don't have a SECC inclusion. Am I disqualified?
Not necessarily. Ujjwala 2.0 covers many other categories (BPL, SC/ST, AAY, PMAY beneficiary, migrants, tea workers). Pick whichever applies to you.
Can my husband apply for Ujjwala?
No — Ujjwala mandates the woman applicant. Connection is in her name.
I'm a migrant — what address proof?
Ujjwala 2.0 accepts self-declaration — no formal address proof needed. Distributor typically asks for landlord NOC or just your statement.
Why didn't I get subsidy on 13th cylinder?
Only 12 cylinders/year are subsidised under Ujjwala. 13th+ at market rate. (Per LPG year — usually April to March.)
I lost my Ujjwala booklet. What do I do?
Distributor issues duplicate booklet — small fee (₹30–50). Carry Aadhaar.
Can I switch from Indane to HP Gas (or vice versa)?
Inter-distributor transfer allowed — visit current distributor, surrender, get NOC. New distributor onboards. Some delays (10–15 days).
I haven't bought a refill in 24 months. Is connection cancelled?
Not cancelled — but flagged dormant. Visit distributor, do KYC update + book a cylinder. Reactivated.
What's the difference between LPG subsidy and Ujjwala subsidy?
Both are now the same DBT mechanism. Ujjwala beneficiaries get a higher subsidy (govt sometimes adds a top-up of ₹100–200 over the base ~₹200–300). General PAHAL beneficiaries get the base subsidy.
