How to check e-Shram card status

Method 1 — Direct download with UAN

  1. Click Already Registered in the top menu.
  2. Click Update / Download UAN Card.
  3. Enter your 12-digit UAN.
  4. Enter Aadhaar OTP (sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile).
  5. The dashboard shows your status: Active, Inactive (eKYC pending), Aadhaar-linked, Bank-linked, Linked schemes.
  6. Click Download UAN Card — PDF downloads with your e-Shram UAN, name, photo, address.

After the dashboard loads, the Scheme Convergence tab shows which schemes you're enrolled in:

Method 3 — Mobile app

The official e-Shram app (Android: Google Play, iOS: App Store) supports the same status check on phone.

What information your e-Shram card holds

Why your e-Shram benefits may be stuck

Reason 1 — Aadhaar-mobile not linked

The e-Shram dashboard requires Aadhaar OTP. If your Aadhaar isn't linked to a mobile, you can't access status. Solution: visit any Aadhaar Seva Kendra to link.

Reason 2 — Bank account not validated

Schemes (PM-SYM, PMSBY, PMJJBY) need a validated bank account for premium debit + benefit payout. Visit your bank to validate Aadhaar-bank seeding.

Reason 3 — Occupation code incorrect

Some scheme eligibility (PM Vishwakarma) is occupation-specific (only for 18 traditional artisan trades). If your occupation code is wrong, you may not appear in the eligibility list. Update at any CSC.

Reason 4 — Annual renewal pending

PMSBY + PMJJBY are 1-year insurance policies. If premium isn't auto-debited (because of low bank balance on June 1), the policy lapses. Top up your bank account by May 31 each year.

If your e-Shram card is showing wrong details

Step 1 — Update via portal

  1. At eshram.gov.inUpdate Profile.
  2. Most fields (occupation, income range, address) are self-update.
  3. Aadhaar/name corrections need CSC visit.

Step 2 — File RTI to Labour Commissioner

If portal update doesn't propagate or scheme enrolment stays stuck, file an RTI:

To CPIO, Office of the Labour Commissioner, [Your State]
Subject: RTI under §6(1) — e-Shram scheme convergence
1. Reason my e-Shram UAN [number] is not enrolled in [scheme]./ > 2. Date my eligibility was last reviewed. > 3. Action plan + estimated date of enrolment. > 4. State-wide statistics on e-Shram → scheme convergence rate for FY 2025-26. Use RTI Drafter. Statutory reply: 30 days under §7(1) RTI Act 2005. ===== Schemes you automatically qualify for via e-Shram ===== | Scheme | What it gives | Premium | Auto-debit | | PM-SYM | Rs 3,000/month pension after 60 | Rs 55-200/mo (matched by govt) | Yes | | PMSBY | Rs 2 lakh accident insurance | Rs 20/year | Yes | | PMJJBY | Rs 2 lakh life insurance | Rs 436/year | Yes | | PM Vishwakarma | Rs 3 lakh skill credit (artisans only) | Free | N/A | | PMAY-G | Rs 1.2-1.3 lakh rural housing (BPL only)| Free | N/A | | Ayushman Bharat | Rs 5 lakh hospitalisation (SECC-poor) | Free | N/A | | PDS / NFSA | 5 kg/person/month at Rs 1-3 | Free | N/A | ===== e-Shram registration — if you don't have one ===== - Visit eshram.gov.inRegister on e-Shram. - Provide Aadhaar + mobile (linked). - Verify OTP, fill: occupation, skill, monthly income, family details. - Submit.
