If you searched Seva Sindhu and landed on a Gruha Lakshmi page, you were sent to the wrong scheme. Seva Sindhu is Karnataka's common citizen-service portal. Gruha Lakshmi is one cash-transfer scheme with its own guarantee-scheme pages. Status for a certificate, a bus pass or a departmental form is checked with the Application Reference Number on sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in.
Quick answer
Last reviewed 11 September 2026. RTI Wiki is an independent citizen guide, not the Government of Karnataka and not a status service. We cannot open your application, reset your password or release a payment. Never type Aadhaar, bank details, application numbers or OTPs in comments. The cover is an illustration.
The official FAQ on the English home page states: Seva Sindhu is the common citizen service portal of the Government of Karnataka. It puts government-related services and other information in one place. It is implemented under the e-District Mission Mode Project of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India.
The same FAQ says you can use it from the internet anywhere, or through identified service delivery centres at district, taluk, sub-division and village level. After you request a service, a unique acknowledgement or token number is generated for later follow-up.
The website policy names the owner. The site is owned, maintained and hosted by the Department of e-Governance, Government of Karnataka, at the State Data Centre. It is designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre, Bengaluru. Departmental content is supplied by the departments of Karnataka.
A relocation notice on the same home page gives the office of the Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services as Suvarna Bhavana, BWSSB Building, 3rd Floor, 18th Cross, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru 560055.
In 50 words. Seva Sindhu is Karnataka's one-stop citizen portal for departmental services. You register, apply, pay if a fee is due, and track the Application Reference Number. It is not itself a monthly cash scheme. Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyothi and Yuva Nidhi appear as counters on the home page. Each still has its own service path.
This is the reason this page exists. Search for “seva sindhu” currently sends many readers to Gruha Lakshmi payment status. That page is about a ₹2,000 a month cash transfer to the woman named as head of household on a Karnataka ration card. It is not a login guide for the whole portal.
The Seva Sindhu English home page, checked on 11 September 2026, shows three separate counters: Total Number of Application Received for Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyoti and Yuvanidhi. Those counters do not make the three schemes the same as the portal.
Guarantee-scheme applications sit on a different host, sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.in. The Seva Sindhu header prints Guarantee scheme call centre number 1902. Use that number for Gruha Lakshmi money questions. Use the Seva Sindhu tracker for a departmental application number.
If you only want the cash-transfer record, stop here and open the Gruha Lakshmi guide. If you want to log in, register, or track a certificate, licence, bus pass or other departmental form, stay on this page.
Only karnataka.gov.in hosts below were treated as official. Private lookalikes such as sevasindhukarnataka.com were not used.
| Address | What the page is for |
|---|---|
| sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in | Home, track, complaints, category list, English and Kannada. |
| Track your application status | The public tracker. Placeholder Enter Application No., maxlength 20. Button Track Your Application Status. |
| sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in | Services link from the home page. Apply and register. |
| New users register here | DigiLocker and Aadhaar registration. |
| Raise Your Complaint | Portal complaint page. It prints 08024410574. |
| sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.in | Guarantee Schemes portal, including Gruha Lakshmi. |
| rtionline.karnataka.gov.in | Karnataka RTI Online, linked from the home page. |
| Praja Seve / iPGRS | Integrated public grievance system, linked from the home page. |
The tracker was read without entering anyone's application number. That confirms the visible labels. It does not confirm your file.
Step 1. Find the Application Reference Number.
The official FAQ says: after you submit, you receive an Application Reference Number, which you enter on the home page to check status. SMS is sent at each step after submitting. An email is also described for status and next steps that need an appointment or verification, on the registered phone number and email ID.
If you applied at a Grama One, Bangalore One, Karnataka One or CSC counter, the acknowledgement slip should carry the same number. Do not confuse a payment receipt with this number.
Step 2. Open the tracker, not a random Google result.
Use Track your application status on sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in. The English home page labels this tile Track your application status. The Kannada home page labels it ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅರ್ಜಿಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಿರಿ.
On 11 September 2026 the tracker page carried tabs for Revenue Department, Other Departments and Students Bus Pass. Pick the tab that matches the service you applied for. A student bus pass number does not belong in the Revenue tab.
Step 3. Type the number and submit.
The box placeholder is Enter Application No. The field is limited to 20 characters. The submit control is Track Your Application Status.
Do not paste Aadhaar, a ration-card number or a bank account into this box. The field is an application number.
Step 4. Read the four result fields.
The English home page demonstrates the result with these labels:
Check Department Name before you trust Application Status. A match on the number with the wrong department is not your case.
This review did not log in as a beneficiary, so it does not publish a table of status words. The citizen user manual tells you to open View Status of Application, then Track application status, enter the Application Reference Number from the acknowledgement or SMS, and click Get Data. If the current status is delivered, the manual says to click Delivered and download the output certificate under Issue Document(s). That is the manual's download path for a delivered certificate. It is not a promise that every service ends in a downloadable file.
If the tracker is blank. Confirm the number, the tab and the spelling. Then take the acknowledgement to a Grama One, Bangalore One or Karnataka One centre, or use the complaint numbers on the official pages below. A blank result is not proof of rejection.
Already registered. The FAQ says you log in with the mobile number or email used at registration. If you forget the password, use Forgot Password on the login screen, or use the OTP option.
New user. The home page registration steps, checked on 11 September 2026, are:
The FAQ describes DigiLocker as a MeitY Digital India document wallet. Issued DigiLocker documents are treated as being at par with original physical documents under Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries providing Digital Locker facilities) Rules, 2016, notified on 8 February 2017 vide G.S.R. 711(E). That is the portal's own statement of the rule.
If your mobile is not linked to Aadhaar, the KPSC departmental-exam FAQ on the same domain tells candidates to visit a Permanent Enrolment Centre first. That instruction is for Aadhaar-mandatory exam applications. For other services, ask the counter if an operator login can file the form without a self-service account.
Online, the home page Seva Sindhu Services link opens sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in. The FAQ says the list of services is on the portal, and clicking a service name opens that form.
You may save an incomplete application and return to it under View Incomplete Applications.
Fees depend on the service. The FAQ says you can pay on the portal by debit card, credit card, net banking or Paytm. The website cancellation policy says fees paid for successfully submitted applications are not refunded, and cancellation of applications is not entertained. Failed transactions are described as attracting an automatic refund. Do not treat that as a promise about a particular bank.
Offline. The FAQ says schemes and services are available at district, taluk and village level at Bangalore One, Karnataka One and Grama One centres, and also at CSCs. The citizen user manual also names Atalji Jana Snehi Kendra and Bapuji Kendras as delivery channels the portal is meant to integrate.
Door delivery of citizen services is linked from the English header to Janasevaka.
The English header also states supported browsers as Internet Explorer 9+, Mozilla 50+ and Chrome 52+.
These are practical distinctions. They are not a claim that every department uses the same status word.
| What you hold | What it shows | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Application Reference Number or acknowledgement | A request was accepted and numbered | Run it on the tracker. Note Department Name. |
| Tracker row with Application Status | The portal's current label for that number | Read the department. If the service should produce a certificate, ask whether it is delivered. |
| Delivered, with an output certificate | The manual's download path is available for that file | Download from Issue Document(s). Keep a copy. |
| Blank tracker | The lookup produced nothing usable | Check the tab and the number. Then use a centre or the complaint page. |
| Gruha Lakshmi payment missing | That is a cash-transfer question | Use the Gruha Lakshmi guide and helpline 1902. Do not paste a ration-card number into Enter Application No. |
A Seva Sindhu application status is not a bank statement. For DBT mapping questions on an Aadhaar-linked account, see how to check DBT and Aadhaar-bank mapping. That guide does not replace the departmental record.
The official pages do not print one single number for every problem. On 11 September 2026 they printed these, on these pages:
Call the number printed on the page that matches your problem. Do not send Aadhaar or OTPs to a number that appeared only in a search snippet.
The home page also links iPGRS at ipgrs.karnataka.gov.in and Sakala at sakala.kar.nic.in. Praja Seve is the integrated public grievance system. A grievance ID is a complaint record. It is not a new application number.
For a departmental exam filed through Seva Sindhu, the KPSC FAQ on the same domain lists technical support 080-44554455. That number is labelled for that exam, not for every citizen service.
RTI obtains records the public authority already holds. It cannot reset a password, approve a form or order a payment.
The Seva Sindhu home page itself links Karnataka RTI Online. Use that state portal, not the Central Government RTI Online site.
Ordinary response time is 30 days under section 7(1) of the RTI Act, 2005. A transfer to another public authority should be made within five days under section 6(3). First appeal lies under section 19(1). See how to file RTI in Karnataka, the RTI Act guide and the first-appeal guide.
Karnataka RTI fee and BPL wording are set out on the state portal. Confirm the current fee and exemption proof on rtionline.karnataka.gov.in before you pay. This is general information, not legal advice.
To: The State Public Information Officer, [Department named on the tracker, or Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services / Department of e-Governance, Karnataka]
Subject: Seva Sindhu application records for [Application Reference Number]
Under section 6(1) of the RTI Act, 2005, please provide copies of:
1. The recorded status of the above application, with dates. 2. The file-movement or action history. 3. Any deficiency, rejection, approval or delivery note, with the reason recorded. 4. If the output is a certificate, the dated entry that it was issued or made available for download.
If a requested record is not held, please say so. If another public authority holds it, please transfer the relevant part under section 6(3) and inform me.
Name and postal address: [in the prescribed fields] Date and signature: [as required]
Do not paste the full Aadhaar or bank account into this letter. The application number should be enough to find the file. Review a draft in the AI RTI Drafter before you file. Check a reply with the PIO Reply Checker. If you need a first appeal, use the First Appeal Builder.
Illustrative situation, not a reported case. A reader holds an acknowledgement, the tracker is blank, and a centre says “wait”. The useful RTI is for the dated status entry and any deficiency note, not a demand that the portal “must approve”.
No. Seva Sindhu is the common Karnataka citizen-service portal. Gruha Lakshmi is a monthly cash scheme for eligible women heads of household. The portal home page shows a Gruha Lakshmi application-received counter, but cash status is a guarantee-scheme question. Use Gruha Lakshmi payment status and 1902 for the money. Use this page for login and application tracking.
The public tracker at Track your application status asks for Enter Application No. It does not ask you to log in. You still need the Application Reference Number. The FAQ also says you can enter that number on the home page.
The tracker checked on 11 September 2026 asked for Application No., 20 characters. This review did not find a public Aadhaar-only or mobile-only status box on that page. Do not send those numbers to an unofficial SMS service.
After registration you log in with the registered mobile number or email, and a password or OTP. New registration goes through DigiLocker and the Aadhaar-linked mobile. The registration link is on sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in.
The FAQ says: use Forgot Password on the login screen, or use the OTP option.
The FAQ names Bangalore One, Karnataka One, Grama One and CSCs. Take the documents the service list asks for, and keep the acknowledgement.
For guarantee-scheme cash questions, the home-page header prints 1902. For portal complaints, the complaint page prints 08024410574. The home-page FAQ also lists four mobile numbers for 9am to 6pm on government working days. Use the number on the official page that matches the problem.
No. Delivered, on the citizen user manual, is the point at which you may download an output certificate for that service. A Gruha Lakshmi credit is a separate bank record. See the Gruha Lakshmi guide.
No. RTI gives you copies of held records and recorded reasons. File a grievance for action, and RTI for the file. See RTI for a government-scheme delay.
Yuva Nidhi has its own counter on the Seva Sindhu home page and a separate wiki guide at Yuva Nidhi status. Do not assume one tracker answers every guarantee scheme.
Fetched on 11 September 2026, without logging in as a citizen and without entering an application number.
Review limits. No helpline call was placed. No application was looked up. No certificate was downloaded. Helpdesk numbers are reported as printed on named pages on this date, because those pages do not all print the same number. Verify the number on the page you are using before you call.
