Documents for a New LPG Connection: Indane, HP, Bharatgas

• Aadhaar: identity + address proof + DBT-PAHAL routing. The KYC form takes the Aadhaar number for identity and lists Aadhaar (UID) as the first accepted POA document, so one Aadhaar can cover both identity and the connection address.
• Bank passbook or cancelled cheque: the KYC form asks for account holder name, bank, branch, account number and IFSC, with a copy attached, for PAHAL DBT subsidy. Keep that account active, because the Rs 300 refill support arrives in it by direct benefit transfer.
• Address proof: the KYC form's POA annexure lists 25 accepted documents, from Aadhaar, passport and driving licence to electricity, water and property tax bills.
• A passport-size photograph: the KYC form carries a box to paste your photo.
• Application form (KYC): available at the distributor. The PMUY site hosts the current KYC form and the migrant self-declaration for download.
• Family composition document: ration card or any State document authenticating the family. Migrants without one use the self-declaration route instead.

• Caste or category evidence for Ujjwala: eligibility covers adult women from SC or ST households, PMAY (Gramin), Most Backward Classes, Antyodaya Anna Yojana, tea and ex-tea garden tribes, forest dwellers, island and river island residents, SECC households, or households under the 14-point declaration.
• Self-Declaration for Migrants (Annexure I): for applicants without a ration card or State document from the applying State.
• 14-point declaration: signed and enclosed with the KYC where that is the eligibility route.
• Surrender or termination voucher: for transfer of a connection, or a new connection against a terminated one. The OMC forms list a unified transfer and regularisation form and a declaration for a lost subscription voucher.
• Death certificate: for inheritance of a connection from a deceased relative.

• Age and household rule: the KYC declaration states a connection cannot be provided to a person under 18 years, and that neither the applicant nor any household member may hold another PSU LPG connection or a domestic Piped Natural Gas connection. Households with PNG are not entitled to subsidised LPG.
• One kitchen rule: you declare the connection will be used at the stated address for domestic cooking only, that no other LPG installation will sit in the same kitchen, and that a second cylinder issued against the connection will be used in the same kitchen with the original installation.
• De-duplication: the KYC data is checked across government oil companies for any other subsidised domestic connection in your name or your household's.
• What a general connection costs: refundable security deposits for the cylinder and regulator, plus the first refill at the applicable retail price. Ask the distributor for the current deposit schedule rather than relying on a fixed figure quoted online.
• What Ujjwala covers: cash assistance of Rs 2,050 for a 14.2 kg connection or Rs 1,300 for a 5 kg one, covering cylinder security deposit of Rs 1,700 or Rs 950, pressure regulator Rs 150, LPG hose Rs 100, the Domestic Gas Consumer Card Rs 25, and installation charges Rs 75. The first refill and the stove are free.
• Subsidy now: under the support described by the Petroleum Ministry in June 2026, any household can buy as many cylinders as it needs at the retail price of Rs 942 for a 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi, and a PMUY beneficiary receives Rs 300 by direct benefit transfer on the first four refills each year, an effective Rs 642.
• Booking channels: for Indane, IVRS on 7718955555, missed call to 8454955555, WhatsApp to 7588888824, the customer portal cx.indianoil.in, the IndianOil ONE app, and Common Service Centres. Bharatgas and HP Gas publish their own numbers on the PMUY site. Payments can ride BBPS apps.
• Delivery verification: OTP-based delivery verification has been extended to about 90 per cent of deliveries to stop subsidised domestic LPG leaking into commercial use, so keep your registered mobile active and reachable.
• Scheme scale: PMUY was launched in May 2016 to provide deposit-free connections to adult women from poor households, and as on 1 July 2025 there were about 10.33 crore PMUY connections across the country.
