3. Enter the details, check the name, subjects and marks line by line, and download or screenshot the provisional result with the date visible
4. Collect the original marksheet from the school, or from DigiLocker when the board releases it there
5. If anything is wrong — a mark, a subject, a name spelling, a result status — apply for verification of marks, photocopy of the answer script, or revaluation within the board's window

Boards are public authorities — CBSE included, as the case law below shows. The route is written complaint first, then RTI:

1. The status of my verification / revaluation application no. ___ dated ___.
2. The name and designation of the officer handling the application.
3. The reasons for the delay beyond the board's notified timeline.
4. Copies of notings on the application file for the past 30 days.
5. The date by which the revised result or marksheet will be issued.

Real example. A student's downloaded CBSE result showed one subject score inconsistent with her internal record. Her parents filed for verification of marks the same week, kept the receipt, and when the revised mark took weeks, one RTI to the board's CPIO — file status, officer, notings, date — brought the corrected mark and the revised marksheet inside a month. The window and the paper trail did the work.
