PM-Kisan 23rd Instalment Status and eKYC — citizen guide 2026

The PM-Kisan 23rd instalment of ₹2000 is not yet officially dated as of 2 June 2026, and is widely expected between June and July 2026. This guide shows you how to check your instalment status on pmkisan.gov.in, complete eKYC, and find the exact reason a kist did not reach your bank account.

Quick answer: Each PM-Kisan instalment is ₹2000, paid three times a year (₹6000 total). The 22nd instalment was released on 13 March 2026. The 23rd is not yet officially announced and is expected around June to July 2026 [verify]. Complete eKYC and bank-Aadhaar seeding now, or your kist will be held back.

What PM-Kisan is

PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi is a central scheme that pays eligible landholding farmer families ₹6000 a year. The money arrives in three equal instalments of ₹2000 each, sent straight to your bank account by Direct Benefit Transfer. The scheme is run by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

Scheme position, eligibility and your RTI right

PM-Kisan is administered by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, and all status and eKYC services run on the official pmkisan.gov.in portal. Eligibility covers landholding farmer families, subject to the scheme exclusion list (income-tax payers, constitutional post holders, pensioners above ₹10000 a month and other excluded categories). eKYC is mandatory for every registered farmer before an instalment is released.

If your instalment is stuck and the portal gives no clear answer, you have a right to ask. Under RTI Act 2005 §6(1) you can file an application asking why your benefit was withheld, and §7(1) requires the public authority to reply within 30 days. Use this when a status flag stays unexplained for weeks.

This page owns the narrow “instalment date and not credited” question. For the broad “PM-Kisan status check” query, the canonical page is PM-Kisan status check 2026.

Documents you need

Status meanings and why a kist is not credited

What you see / problem What it means How to fix it
eKYC pending / Not done Mandatory Aadhaar eKYC is incomplete, so payment is held Do OTP eKYC on the portal, or biometric eKYC at a CSC centre
Aadhaar not seeded with bank / DBT disabled Your bank account is not NPCI-mapped for DBT Visit your bank branch and request Aadhaar seeding and DBT enablement
Land record verification pending State has not verified your land seeding Contact your village revenue or agriculture office to complete verification
Name mismatch (Aadhaar vs bank) Names differ across records, so the transfer fails Correct the spelling so Aadhaar, bank and PM-Kisan records match
Payment failed / rejected Wrong, closed or frozen account at PFMS level Update correct active account details and re-verify
Status shows paid but no money Bank credit delay or wrong account on file Check the named account and passbook before raising a complaint

Real-life example

Dr. Shrawan Kumar Pathak, a smallholder, saw the 22nd instalment reach his neighbours but not him. On Know Your Status his record showed “eKYC pending”. His daughter Kashvi Pathak completed OTP eKYC on pmkisan.gov.in in minutes and got the bank account Aadhaar-seeded the next day. When the catch-up payment still did not arrive after weeks, he filed an RTI under §6(1) asking the DBT cell for the reason and date of release. (Illustrative example.)

How much is one PM-Kisan instalment?

Each instalment is ₹2000. There are three instalments a year, so an eligible farmer family gets ₹6000 in total.

Why was my PM-Kisan instalment not credited?

The most common reasons are pending eKYC, an Aadhaar number not seeded with your bank for DBT, incomplete land record verification, or a name mismatch between Aadhaar and bank records.

Is eKYC mandatory for PM-Kisan?

Yes. eKYC is compulsory for every registered farmer. Use OTP eKYC on the portal, or biometric or face eKYC at a CSC centre. Without it, your instalment is held.

How do I check if my eKYC is done?

I completed eKYC but still did not get the money. What now?

Check that your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled, and that names match. If everything is correct and the kist is still missing, file an RTI to the DBT cell.
