Forum Policy — DPDP & IT Rules Compliance

Effective 21 April 2026. This Forum Policy governs user comments, replies, and reactions on righttoinformation.wiki (the “Site”), including the aggregated RTI Wiki Forum. It is published in compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules, 2021”) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act, 2023”) read with the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. You may not post, reply to, or otherwise transmit content that:

  1. Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy including bodily privacy, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, libellous, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws in force (per Rule 3(1)(b)(ii) of the IT Rules, 2021);
  2. Is harmful to a child (Rule 3(1)(b)(iii) of the IT Rules, 2021);
  3. Infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights (Rule 3(1)(b)(iv) of the IT Rules, 2021);
  4. Violates any law for the time being in force (Rule 3(1)(b)(v) of the IT Rules, 2021);
  5. Deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message or knowingly communicates any information that is patently false or misleading, whether deliberately or inadvertently; contains misinformation;
  6. Impersonates another person;
  7. Contains software viruses or any other computer code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
  8. Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order; causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence; prevents investigation of any offence; is insulting to any other nation;
  9. Is a patently false online game for consideration or an advertisement / surrogate advertisement or promotion thereof;
  10. Violates any law relating to online gambling, betting or wagering;
  11. Contains personal information of another identifiable natural person (phone number, Aadhaar / PAN, address, financial account details, medical history) unless that person has consented.

7.1 Users

To report a comment that violates this Policy:

  1. Include: the article URL, a link or quote identifying the comment, the nature of the violation (Section 3 ground), and your contact details.
  2. We acknowledge within 24 hours and decide within 72 hours, per Rule 3(2)(a) of the IT Rules, 2021.
  3. If we remove the comment, we notify the commenter with a summary of the ground.
