The old eDaakhil login is no longer the place to begin a new consumer case. The official e-Jagriti platform now combines online filing, scrutiny, case tracking and orders for District, State and National Consumer Commissions. Prepare the complaint and evidence before signing in so that a portal problem does not become a defective filing.
Quick answer: Open e-jagriti.gov.in, create or use your account, choose File New Case, select the Commission from the current consideration-paid jurisdiction, upload the complaint, affidavit and evidence, pay the fee shown by the portal, and preserve the acknowledgement. e-Jagriti states that eDaakhil and the older OCMS, CMS and Confonet systems were subsumed into e-Jagriti from 1 January 2025.
Search results still show phrases such as “edaakhil.nic.in login,” but current filing and case management are on e-Jagriti. Use the official domain directly rather than following an advertisement, message link or agent-provided address.
| Task | Correct official route |
|---|---|
| Start or continue an online consumer filing | e-Jagriti |
| Read the filing manuals | e-Jagriti help documents |
| Search for an existing matter | Advanced case search |
| Track a pre-litigation NCH grievance | National Consumer Helpline |
An NCH docket is not a Consumer Commission case. NCH is a pre-litigation grievance channel; e-Jagriti carries the adjudicative filing and case record. See the separate consumer complaint status guide if you are unsure which number you have.
For the current pecuniary jurisdiction, use the consideration paid for the goods or services, not merely the compensation demanded in the complaint. The Consumer Protection (Jurisdiction of the District, State and National Commissions) Rules, 2021 set these bands:
| Consideration paid | Commission under the 2021 jurisdiction rules |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹50 lakh | District Consumer Commission |
| Above ₹50 lakh and up to ₹2 crore | State Consumer Commission |
| Above ₹2 crore | National Consumer Commission |
Do not add the compensation you hope to recover onto the purchase price in order to pick a higher forum. Inflating the prayer to change the Commission is how filings are returned at scrutiny.
Territorial jurisdiction still matters under section 34(2) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. A complaint may be filed where the opposite party resides or carries on business, or where the cause of action arose. Many refund-refusal cases are maintainable at the consumer's city because the refusal happened there, but that is a facts question. If several transactions, parties or territories are involved, obtain legal advice rather than choosing a Commission from the amount alone. A group of consumers with the same interest may file jointly under section 35(1)©; the pecuniary test then looks at the combined consideration, not each person's ticket in isolation.
The e-Jagriti FAQ publishes this fee schedule. Confirm the amount shown inside the portal before payment because rules can change. Do not copy an older blog table.
| Consideration paid | Filing fee |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹5 lakh | Nil |
| Above ₹5 lakh and up to ₹10 lakh | ₹200 |
| Above ₹10 lakh and up to ₹20 lakh | ₹400 |
| Above ₹20 lakh and up to ₹50 lakh | ₹1,000 |
| Above ₹50 lakh and up to ₹1 crore | ₹2,000 |
| Above ₹1 crore and up to ₹2 crore | ₹2,500 |
| Above ₹2 crore and up to ₹4 crore | ₹3,000 |
| Above ₹4 crore and up to ₹6 crore | ₹4,000 |
| Above ₹6 crore and up to ₹8 crore | ₹5,000 |
| Above ₹8 crore and up to ₹10 crore | ₹6,000 |
| Above ₹10 crore | ₹7,500 |
The portal FAQ says an advocate is not mandatory. A consumer may present their own case, although complex limitation, jurisdiction, evidence or execution questions can justify professional advice. Most phone, appliance, ticket and small-repair disputes sit in the nil-fee District slab if consideration paid is up to ₹5 lakh.
The exact set depends on the dispute and Commission. A practical filing pack usually includes:
Do not upload an Aadhaar number, bank credential or unrelated personal record merely because it appears in an old checklist. Use only what is relevant and redact information that the Commission does not need, while keeping an unredacted original available if lawfully requested.
There is no reliable universal promise that a complete case can be filed in a fixed number of minutes. Document volume, portal validation, payment and affidavit requirements vary. For a parallel walkthrough of District Commission filing, see how to file on e-Jagriti / DCDRC.
Searches for e jagriti consumer complaint format expect a PDF skeleton, not a paragraph of advice. The Consumer Protection (Consumer Commission Procedure) Regulations, 2020 require a structured complaint: title and forum, parties, numbered facts, cause of action, limitation, jurisdiction, specific relief, verification and a list of documents. The portal accepts that complaint as an upload. Use short numbered paragraphs. Separate facts from legal submissions.
A useful order is:
Avoid invented conversations, exaggerated loss figures or a demand unsupported by the evidence. A concise record is easier to scrutinise than a collection of screenshots with no index.
This is a District Commission skeleton for a goods or service refund refusal. Adapt the facts; keep the structure. It is not a filled-in court form and does not quote a filing fee.

Every consumer complaint uploaded on e-Jagriti is expected to be supported by an affidavit verifying the facts. A self-signed “verification” at the foot of the complaint is not a substitute for a sworn affidavit. Follow the current help document on e-Jagriti for the exact upload slot and file type.
Typical affidavit defects that send a file back:
Draft the affidavit on a separate sheet, have it sworn before a notary or other authorised oath officer, scan it legibly, and upload it with the complaint. If scrutiny marks the affidavit defective, cure that defect; do not file a second complaint.
Section 69 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 sets a two-year limitation from the date the cause of action arose. The Commission shall not admit a time-barred complaint unless the complainant shows sufficient cause and files a condonation application.
The cause of action is not automatically the purchase date. It is the date the deficiency or unfair practice crystallised:
If you are filing after two years, attach a separate condonation application under section 69(2) with the sufficient cause (illness, late discovery of fraud, documents in another person's custody). Filing on day 731 with no condonation application is how complaints die at scrutiny.
| Portal stage | What it usually indicates | Your next step |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | The case has not been finally submitted. | Complete the missing items and review again. |
| Submitted / filed | The portal received the filing. | Preserve the acknowledgement and monitor scrutiny. |
| Defect / objection | Registry review identified an issue. | Read the exact note and cure only the stated defect. |
| Registered | A formal case number has been assigned. | Track the case history, orders and next date. |
| Notice / hearing | The Commission has passed a procedural direction. | Read the signed order; the label alone is not the full direction. |
| Disposed | The matter has been closed by an order. | Download the final order and check compliance or appeal deadlines. |
If an old eDaakhil reference is missing, use e-Jagriti's file-tracing help rather than opening a duplicate matter. Keep the old acknowledgement, payment proof and screenshots of the search result.
After admission, the Commission issues notice to the opposite party and takes a written version, evidence by affidavit, and arguments. The Act's ordinary disposal windows are administrative aims, not a promise that your city Commission will finish in a fixed number of days. Diary the appeal clock from the date the order is uploaded: District to State (section 41) and State to National (section 51) are short statutory windows. Confirm the current deposit / fee inside the portal; do not copy an old percentage from a blog.
A Consumer Commission order is not self-executing. If the opposite party does not pay or perform within the time stated in the order, file an execution application under section 71 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in the same matter — it is not a fresh case.
Section 71 read with section 72 is the enforcement layer:
Use the same case number on e-Jagriti. Preserve the final order PDF, proof of service, and proof that the time to comply has expired. For the full recovery sequence see consumer order execution. Do not assume an NCH ticket or a social-media post will collect the decree.
For a pre-litigation attempt, see NCH 1915 guidance. For fake complaint-assistance sites, see the complaint-service app warning. Sector examples that still end on this portal include multiplex food overpricing, food-delivery refunds, AC repair refunds and airline baggage complaints. Dark-pattern traps are covered in CCPA dark-pattern rules.
The functions of eDaakhil and other older consumer case systems were subsumed into e-Jagriti. Use the current official e-Jagriti portal for filing and tracking.
The current e-Jagriti FAQ says an advocate is not mandatory. You may still seek advice where limitation, jurisdiction, evidence or the relief is complex.
No. The current fee is nil only where consideration paid is up to ₹5 lakh. Higher slabs carry the fee in the official table. Confirm the amount the portal displays before paying.
The 2021 jurisdiction rules use the value of goods or services paid as consideration. Do not select a Commission merely by increasing the relief figure.
NCH is a useful pre-litigation channel, but it is not the same as filing before a Consumer Commission. Check the current law and facts of your case rather than treating an NCH docket as a mandatory court step.
Open the scrutiny note, correct the specified problem and preserve the resubmission proof. Do not start a second complaint unless the Commission or official support channel directs you to do so.
e-Jagriti provides public search facilities. Match the Commission, year, case type and parties before assuming a similarly named result is yours.
No. Submission creates a filing record. Scrutiny, admission, evidence and the final decision remain for the Commission.
