PM Awas Yojana Gramin Beneficiary List Check 2026: Find Your Name and Track Instalments

PMAY G Beneficiary List status help desk scene

Reviewed on: 2026-06-19.

Direct answer. Go to the AwaasSoft portal at pmayg.nic.in, click IAY/PMAY-G Beneficiary Search, enter your Registration Number or Beneficiary ID, solve the captcha, and submit. Your sanction status and instalment release record appear on screen. If you have an Awaas Plus ID from the survey app, use the AwaasPlus Beneficiary Details page instead. To track whether an instalment has reached your bank account, use the FTO Tracking System on the same portal with your Fund Transfer Order number or PFMS ID.

PMAY-G works on a milestone-linked payment calendar. The government releases money in stages tied to construction progress, not in one lump sum. Understanding which stage you are at, and whether your name is on the right list, is what this article covers.

What Lists Exist Under PMAY-G?

Before you search, know which list you are on.

If your name is not in the Beneficiary Search, check whether you are still on the Permanent Wait List awaiting sanction. These are two different stages.

Method 1: Search by Registration Number (AwaasSoft)

This is the most direct route if you were sanctioned before the Awaas Plus survey.

  1. Open IAY/PMAY-G Beneficiary Search (accessible from the main portal at pmayg.nic.in).
  2. Enter your Registration Number or Beneficiary ID in the search field. This number was given to you at the time of registration, usually by the Block Development Officer or gram panchayat.
  3. Solve the simple captcha (a basic addition sum).
  4. Click Search. Your name, sanction year, house completion stage, and instalment release record will appear.

If you do not know your Registration Number, contact your Block Development Officer or check the physical sanction letter issued when your name was approved.

Method 2: Search by Awaas Plus ID

Households surveyed during the Awaas Plus drive received a unique Awaas Plus ID.

  1. Select your State, enter your Awaas Plus ID, solve the captcha, and submit.

To look up SECC family data using your PMAY-ID, use SECC Family Member Details (requires State and PMAY ID).

Method 3: Track Instalment Release Through FTO

Sanction alone does not mean money has arrived. Each instalment is released via a Fund Transfer Order (FTO), which moves through stages: generated, signed, verified, sent to PFMS, sent to bank, credit confirmation received. Your money is credited only when the FTO reaches “Credit Confirmation Received.”

  1. Enter your FTO Number or PFMS ID, solve the captcha, and submit.

Your FTO number is in your beneficiary file at the Block or DRDA office. If you do not have it, the FTO Instalment-Wise Report on AwaasSoft lets you filter by state and financial year.

How the Instalment Calendar Works

PMAY-G does not release the full unit assistance at one time. Funds are disbursed in stages tied to construction milestones, with each subsequent instalment released only after field verification of the previous stage through the Awaas App or a block-level inspection.

The broad milestone sequence is:

  1. Foundation / plinth level: First instalment released after the beneficiary begins construction and the foundation is verified.
  2. Lintel level: Second instalment released when walls reach lintel height.
  3. Roof / slab level: Third instalment released when the roof is cast.
  4. Completion and geo-tag: Final instalment or balance released after the completed house is photographed and geo-tagged through the Awaas App.

The number of instalments and exact amounts vary by state and financial year. For Karnataka, the portal shows Rs 1,20,000 for plain areas and Rs 1,30,000 for hilly or difficult areas (state top-up: nil). Other states may differ. Verify your state's current unit assistance on the Unit Assistance and Instalment Details report by selecting your state and scheme year.

The instalment money goes directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer route. If your Aadhaar is not seeded to your bank account, the transfer will fail. Check your Aadhaar-bank seeding status before expecting any instalment. PMAY-G beneficiaries are also entitled to 90 to 95 person-days of MGNREGA labour wages for work on their own house; track these at MGNREGA payment status as they flow through a different system.

Why Is Your Name Missing From the List?

Several reasons explain why a household does not appear in the Beneficiary Search:

Approach the Block Development Officer with your registration acknowledgement and ask for a written explanation. That written reason is also what you need before filing an RTI.

PMAY-G vs PMAY-Urban: Pick the Right Portal

PMAY-Urban (PMAY-U) is for city and notified municipal area residents and is managed through pmaymis.gov.in. PMAY-G is strictly for rural households under a gram panchayat. If you live in a village, search at pmayg.nic.in, not pmaymis.gov.in.

Instalment Not Received Even Though Status Shows Released?

The FTO status showing “Credit Confirmation Received” means the transfer was recorded on the government side. If the money has not appeared in your passbook, the issue is on the bank side: a dormant account, unseeded Aadhaar, or a wrong account number or IFSC in your beneficiary record. Check your Aadhaar-bank seeding status and refer to the DBT amount not credited fix guide for the full resolution path. You can also file a formal complaint at pgportal.gov.in quoting your FTO number.

FAQ

I completed my house but the portal still shows it as incomplete. What do I do?

Completion is marked only after a field inspector geo-tags your house through the Awaas App. Submit a written request to the Block Development Officer for a completion verification visit. Until the geo-tag is uploaded, the portal record will not update and the final instalment may be withheld.

Can I check my neighbour's name in the beneficiary list?

Yes. The IAY/PMAY-G Beneficiary Search and the panchayat-wise reports on the AwaasSoft reporting portal are publicly accessible. You can search by registration number or view aggregated panchayat data without logging in.

My registration number is valid but no sanction order appears. Does that mean I was rejected?

Not necessarily. Your name may be sanctioned at state level but not yet pushed to the AwaasSoft system. Wait one to two weeks and recheck. If it still shows nothing, approach the Block Development Officer for a printed sanction status.

The Awaas Plus surveyor visited my house but I never received an ID. How do I find it?

The Awaas Plus ID was recorded by the surveyor in the mobile app. Ask your gram panchayat or Block office for the Awaas Plus survey register for your village. The gram panchayat secretary can also look it up on the AwaasPlus Family Member Details page using your state and household details.

Why did my second instalment not release even though the portal shows first instalment sent?

The second instalment requires the first-stage construction to be verified and photographed. If the Awaas App upload by the block-level verifier is pending, or if there is a mismatch between your account details and the FTO record, the second FTO will not generate. Contact the Block Development Officer and ask them to verify the construction stage in AwaasSoft.

Is there a dedicated helpline number for PMAY-G?

No dedicated toll-free beneficiary helpline number is published on the official portal as of this review. The support email for technical queries is support-pmayg[at]gov[dot]in. For payment and FTO issues, the PFMS helpdesk email is helpdesk-pfms[at]gov[dot]in. For formal complaints, use pgportal.gov.in.

I was a beneficiary under the old Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY). Is my record on this portal?

Yes. The same IAY/PMAY-G Beneficiary Search covers both IAY and PMAY-G records because PMAY-G subsumed IAY from 2016 onwards. Enter your old IAY registration number in the same Beneficiary ID field.
