Check Property Mutation Status on the Correct State Portal

There is no single nationwide mutation-status portal. Use the official land-record, revenue, registration or municipal portal for the state and property type where you applied. Enter the acknowledgement, deed, application, survey, khasra, plot or property-tax number requested by that portal and save a dated status copy. Do not treat a status label as proof of title or assume a universal processing deadline. 'Pending for field report', 'notice', 'objection', 'document scrutiny' and 'order' require different action. If the portal does not explain the hold, submit a written service request to the designated revenue or municipal office and ask for the present stage and deficiency.

Rural land mutation is commonly managed under a state revenue law, while urban property records may be maintained by a municipality or development authority. Portals, labels, fees and appeal routes differ. The National Government Services Portal is useful for finding a state service, but the state's service page and acknowledgement remain the authority for your application.

1. Read the acknowledgement to identify the department, office, property type and application number.
2. Find the official state service through the state revenue or municipal site, or the National Government Services Portal. Avoid paid look-alike sites.
3. Search with the identifier the official portal requests and save the full page showing the date, stage and office.
4. If a notice or objection is pending, download it and respond through the stated channel with proof of filing.
5. If a field report or officer action is pending, submit a concise written request quoting the application and the service standard published by that state, if any.
6. If an order has been passed, obtain the signed order before deciding whether to correct, reapply, appeal or seek review.

Use the service owner's written grievance route first and preserve its acknowledgement. Escalate only to the regulator, appellate authority, Commission or police route that applies to this issue. If a public authority holds the missing status, note, inspection report or reason, request that existing record precisely; RTI does not compel a desired service outcome.
